Vaughan Bear Saws are made to cut on the pull rather than on the push stroke. This allows for a thinner blade, which removes less material, making sawing easier, faster and more accurate. Bear Saw blades are durable spring steel, plated for rust resistance. The specially ground, tri-edge teeth are impulse hardened to retain their sharpness. Interchangeable blade styles match any task, from rough cuts to find woodworking; any blade can be used with either style handle. Blade locks securely in handle, yet saw can be quickly disassembled for convenient toolbox storage. Blade guard protects teeth when saw is stored.

Great saw to start your woodworking journey with.
Saw will rip and cross cut. Make sure your wood is free from metal, staples etc I dulled my first blade. This saw works great.

a joy to use
bought the saw for rip cutting, and I used the Vaughan BS240P handle.once I used it to cross cut and was amazed how wonderful it is, better than the VaughanBS265M for Crosscut. Didn't use it yet for Rip cut.Best saw I ever used (for Crosscut anyway).
