It worked for my basement desktop. Screwed it down and it's not tipping.

Like the fact that it has rubber on the base of the unit to keep vibrations down, wanted to find a way in my small booth to have the microphone hanging upside down instead of sitting on a stand this was a perfect solution

Gasket on the lower side works well.

I have hundreds, some good, some not so good. This one seems well crafted. The threads (important) are well formed, making it easy to spin mic holders on and off. I'll add a few more to my arsenal, but I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 since I feel the price is a bit higher than what I've paid in the past for comparable products. But having said that; you can buy this product with confidence, it's good stuff from a very reputable manufacturer of stage accessories.

I have two of these drilled into my desk, one for my mic and the other for my camera. I love being able to secure my equipment to the perfect spot instead of having something clamped far-off on the edge of my desk. The mount is made from thick steel and has a thick pad on the bottom where it touches your desk surface. Make sure you get the right adapter (usually 5/8 to 3/8 or 5/8 to 1/4), including making sure you get male/female connections, if whatever you are screwing this into does not accept 5/8 male which is what's on the mount.

What can I say? It's a chunk of metal. What's to rate? It's solid, well made, and securely holds my display microphone. If you need one I'd say get this one.

I’d recommend this product. I also like that they put a padded backing on it so it’s not directly on your desktop or a flat surface. This helps reduce the vibration of course in the microphone and your recordings. I literally just screwed it right through this towel on my desk top down to the wood surface. It works perfectly with this gooseneck I found on Amazon. Glad I got it!

My goal was to find a threaded mount that would allow me to suspend a mic stand from the ceiling of my recording booth, giving more flexibility in regards to mic placement, as well as freeing up precious floor space. Had looked at other threaded mounts but didn't buy them due to their smaller size and what looked like (at least in their listing pictures) less-than-great build quality. Very pleased with the TMO8B, it's solid construction and size were exactly what I was looking for. Had to ream out the three attachment holes a touch, as I was using 1/4" bolts into sunken tee-nuts (instead of the supplied screws) to secure the mount to the ceiling. A great upgrade to my booth for only a few dollars!
