Has a nice slim profile
Has a nice slim profile, handle is easy to grip. Blade comes super sharp, easily passes the arm hair test. Can't speak to edge retention yet but hardened aus-8 steel is pretty good quality. This is the best shape of knife I've used so far for stripping back insulation on cables and big wire. Had the cable skinning utility knife and it got stolen, this one is more pocket friendly. The clip orients tip-up, and has philips head screws so I'll probably remove it so it's not being pulled out by a ladder or fall protection harness.

I prefer #44005 over #44006
Having used the 44005 (Resin + Plastic Handle) and 44006 (Aluminum Handle), I much prefer the "feel" of the 44005; it seems like it was designed more thoughtfully- for instance: when the '06 the unlocking mechanism rests uncomfortably low on the handle, meaning its user will be using just a few fingers to unlock it or they will need two hands. Both knives are excellent, but I personally prefer the black resin/plastic handle over the aluminum.

Best electrician's knife
I've tried many different knives. Straight blades, razor blades, hook blades, sheepfoot blades, etc... I've also tried different handle materials such as wood , metal, plastic, etc... Of all of them this is the one I like the best. Here is why I love it. It is very lightweight. The little thumb peg makes it a snap to open the blade single handed while working with live wires or in any situation. You can even move the peg to either side of the blade depending on if your right handed or left handed. The blade is extremely thin and pointy making it very sharp and easy to skin wire. The really fine point makes it nice for slitting cable jackets. I like the sheepfoot/hook blades because the round curve of the blade follows the contour of round cable when skinning. Overall this is just a great electricians knife. The only downfall is it doesn't include a little belt pouch.

A deal at twice the price!
I work in the power line industry and we are hard on our tools! This knife delivers again and again. Sharp, fast to deploy, this knife never lets me down. Japanese Steel and excellent craftsmanship meet in the best blade since the samurai sword! A deal at twice the price!

Thin and light weight
Perfect knife for line work. It's light and compact. Very sharp blade for stripping wire. This is the only knife I will buy from now on. Fits in my hand well and is easy to open and close even though it is not spring loaded.
