Guitar Pickup, SG-20 Silent Guitar EQ Equalizer Pickup with Tone Volume Control Knob for Luthier DIY Parts

I used this pick-up to replace the pick-up on a cheap travel nylon gear. The electronic unit failed and it's impossible to find an exact replacement. So, I ordered this pickup system and made it work on my guitar. The guitar now sounds better than when it was new. The volume control works well i.e. there is more than enough volume. The "Equalizer" does work, primarily in terms of controlling the treble/bass balance. The 1/4" jack for a guitar cord functions and the cord plug is nice and snug. The piezo pickup is nicely designed and I simply installed it under the nut and it is working well. The battery compartment has a strap (for easy battery removal) but the grommet used for the strap makes the compartment too tight for a nine volt battery. I simply drilled out the rivet and removed the strap, and now it is easy to insert or remove the battery.I wish they would offer the same unit with a built in tuner and reverb. If they did, it would be worth paying twice the price.I had to "jerry rig" this unit as it was smaller than the unit I replaced. It doesn't look great, but that's not an issue for me as the guitar is one that I use when I want to practice "silently" or for when we're traveling in our RV. When traveling in the RV, I carry a little Blackstar Fly amp.Bottom line, if you think this kit will meet your needs, then it's well worth the low price to give it a try!
