Good cynical commentary, original. Pop(music), what is it good for ? I wish more Beatle-marks dared turn this corner.
Slightly disappointed, too much of the standard narrative, albeit flagged with "dark side" implications. Some original early evidence, doesn't entirely follow-through or fit the case to be made. Maybe that's the point though, bumper-sticker slogans turning out to be skew lines. All you need is love ? People with minds that hate/ well bro, you're just gonna have to wait ? Nah, they aren't going anywhere and we're still waiting, aren't we ?Still, nice to see someone suggesting The Beatles could take a little responsibility for their proclamations from on high, inserted somewhat exploitatively and recklessly as they were into the minds of the band's vulnerable young-adult devotees. What would people think of St. John today, if he was still living ? Whenever I think of George Harrison's response to his mentally deranged attacker, which was to start chanting the Hare Krishna chant, I can't help laughing ("He blew his mind out".. "He didn't notice that the lights had changed".. "Well I just had to laugh"). These guys, prophets ?

The proposed topic of the byline and introduction is rapidly abandoned in favour of extremely weak cutting and pasting from other books and an overarching 'voicing' from the author which shows he doesn't understand his material even in 'plagiarism' mode. YUK
