Okay- for specific conditions
We originally ordered this in 2021 right around the time that we took in a surrendered gerbil (very similar in size and behavior as a hamster). We needed something here very quickly and relatively small so that we could monitor the rodent in isolation (due to its living conditions before coming to us). We fostered the gerbil for about 6 months before we found it a home and gave this cage away with it. Here are things that I noticed:Pros-1. Okay price for the supplies provided (at the time of ordering this was the cage, food dish, water dispenser, wheel.2. Cage top and bottom were relatively sturdy.3. White coating did not chip off metal bars.Cons-1. My BIGGEST complaint with this is that it is marketed as a "XXL" cage. Well, if you read the dimensions and know about hamster care, you know this is false. But for those not aware, the item description would make you think that this is far beyond what you should provide your hamster with. I would highly recommend further research before ordering this and thinking that you are providing your rodent a penthouse.2. The wheel made a LOT of noise. Which noise with hamster/small rodent wheels is pretty typical, but this one was extra noisy and squeaky. Make sure not to place the cage in your bedroom since they are more active at night and WILL ABSOLUTELY act like they are training for a marathon in the middle of the night.3. The food dish was made out of the same plastic as the bottom. Just fyi that our gerbil was able to chew through the food dish, so I would believe chewing through the plastic bottom would be a possibility too. Ours did not. This would be an okay cage for specific situations- like short term housing for fostering, isolation, travel, cleaning usual home, etc. That being said, I feel that it is much too small to be considered a "XXL" cage for permanent housing.

Cute but, could be designed better
I love that this set includes everything needed for a small rodent. The cage is well made, easy to put together and, easy to clean. The house included is a bit small but will work for a mouse or dwarf hamster. The water bottle is small so, it will need filled very frequently. The food dish is big enough to hold a few days worth of food. I put my mouse in and, she was unable to escape from this cage. The wheel is a bit large for her and, she seems to small to get it really going, I think it may be easier for a bigger hamster to move the big wheel. Still, she absolutely loves this wheel and frequently hangs out on it. I would recommend this set up for a large hamster or small rat but, you will need to get a bigger water bottle and house.

Well built with lots of options
I got this Ferplast "Coney Island Theme Modular Hamster Cage Featuring XXL 11.75-Inch Diameter Exercise Wheel, Includes All Accessories, 19.7L x 13.8W x 9.8H Inches, Total Height is 14.2H w/Wheel in recently and it has Everything you need to get started besides food, water, bedding and a hamster.Ok first off I shared a lot of pictures but I don’t have the hamster yet so I didn’t want to open the bags and risk losing the parts. I wanted to go ahead and review this but I will update later when I get a hamster.First this is very well packaged, everything has its own bag and is covered in bubble wrap. It comes with everything you need including- exercise wheel- water bottle- small hamster house- food bowl- plus all the connections needed to attach the wheel and put the cage together. There’s also 3 different places where you can add tubing for the hamster to crawl throw and create a much larger environment for your hamster. There’s- one place on back left next to the wheel- one place on top- one place on the right sideOverall I’m very impressed with this cage and all the futures. A hamster will be perfectly happy living in this but if you chose too you can add pieces and make a hamster city. Your imagination is the limit as you can add and much or as little as you wish. The cage it self is well made and should last along time.I would recommend this hamster cage

UPDATE: Lasted 3 months, vulnerable spots in plastic easy to chew through
UPDATE - Where the metal bars meets the plastic is apparently a vulnerable area. When my hammy figured this out she chewed a dime-sized hole in one day. They can squeeze through a quarter-sized hole, so one more day and she could have gotten out. The plastic is too thin and should be better designed. It's barely 3 months old and now I've got to figure out how to patch it, and frankly, since they figured out it can be chewed through, they could just start a new hole somewhere else. So I think this thing is now junk.Original review:==========-This is not big enough for a hamster. A hamster habitat needs to be a minimum of 450 square inches, and this is 280 square inches, about half the space needed.-This can be used as a travel cage, as a play pen, or connected to a second unit to reach the necessary 450 square inches. It's best to use this a play area, and a more appropriate cage for burrowing and sleeping.-The water bottle is insanely small.-The wheel assembly was difficult, but just follow the instructions and you'll figure it out. I saw some people complaining about this. The first couple times the wheel wouldn't move at all, but we figured out how to fit the pieces together properly.-I don't like any cage with wire - they can chew on wires and ruin their teeth.-I wish it were taller, so we could install a swing or ladder.-The bottom tray isn't deep enough for burrowing - they really need about 4-6 inches of bedding to burrow, and this is less than 3 inches.-The spiral pattern in the wheel is a cardboard insert, which we didn't insert, because it didn't fit great and we were concerned it would get chewed up.-Aside from the cardboard insert, there is no "coney island" theme to this.-Due to the design of the wheel, when the hamster poops in it, the poop flies up in the air and lands on top of the cage. It's a big poop-flinger.-Otherwise though we love the big wheel, and so does the hamster.
