Pros:- no screen tearing as seen in a most emulation- awesome game lineup if you like samurai showdown especially- solid variety of other neo geo games plus metal slug 1,2,3, garou mark if wolves, kof, sengoku 3- the video output looks accurate in terms of pixel blending similar to viewing in a oldschool crt so if you want a pixel perfect (flat looking in my opinion much like the cheap emulators out there this is a CON for you but not me - also if you are into fake scanlines look elsewhere they is no setting just a decent hdmi output that does justice to the neo geo experience. PRO point - in my opinion the controls are better without the clicky style - i believe this because i had a NEO GEO X classic (sold it i thought it was cheap emulated garbage) the neo geo x classic was a third party console that attempted the clicky control style - when done cheaply the controls break with regular play super fast - the neo geo mini has solid control pads with excellent quality not cheap plastic. The controls are comfortable like the previous neo geo home system from the 90’s and believe they will last - you can also map the controls how you want and have save game options. I love it. SNK are also supporting this system and will be integrating a future arcade controller release to be compatible with these min units. Too many haters out there.

I read ton of reviews on these systems as I was one of those kids that was born in the 80s and spent countless quarters at my local Pizza Hut trying to beat metal slug. All the reviews give it very middling reviews and let’s be honest here as far as these mini consoles go this guy isn’t cheap. I’m here to say I’m very happy with my purchase.The emulation isn’t the best on the big screen (using on a 60” Vizio 4K) but it’s by far acceptable given the plug and play aspect of it.The controllers feel very premium and I’m very much enjoying my time playing with it the last few hours. The built in controls I don’t bother with because I’m a adult with adult size hands so it’s more of a neat factor in that regard.This set includes 2 controllers and everything you need to get started and that’s why I went ahead and bit the bullet on the special edition. Also, I liked the lineup better cause I was more into samurai showdown then I was king of fighters.All in all, I’m pretty happy with my purchase and I know it comes at a premium price. Yes, there’s the raspberry pie emulation setups out there but the mileage varies and I just want to plug/play and not have to jump through 50 hoops to play a game with the kids that I enjoyed when I was their age. If you’re a neo geo fan and want a no fuss solution I say bite the bullet and treat yo self.

I bought this model mainly because Im a huge Samurai Shodown fan and this unit has all of them that appeared on the Neo Geo. Yes everything is mostly in Japanese but if you know these games, then it doesnt matter. Also able to run my Mayflash F500 Elite fight stick on this right out of the box!!!
