To Rust or not to Rust
The lock is great, so far. The proof will be to see how it works after a time since it's used right near the ocean. We purchased it in hope it won't rust.

This is not the marine version!!! Vender is lying and Chargeing way too much.
This is not the marine version!!!The vender is lying and charging much more than anyone else charges for the marine product (when you factor in their outrageous shipping) and they are selling the lower grade product that is available for about $13 / $3 shippingThe Marine Model is: K 0436The real marine version should cost about $17, $3 shipping.I run a boatyard and have bought hundreds of these locks over the past 25 years. The marine locks are a great value, the hold up well even in salt water spray. give them an occasional blast of wd-40 and saturate the inside guts with the shackle open. They last a decade getting salt water spray on a boat. The cheaper models will not hold up as well. Also don't buy the chrome models. They are very pretty but the dissimilar metals causes galvanic corrosion and they also don't last. The all Brass Marine Lock is the best for durability in low to moderate security applications with harsh environments.
