If I could give below 1 star I would. After reading reviews I thought these would be safe for my son who is in jiu-jitsu and recently got braces.First, I followed the steps exactly and these never molded, but they did cause us to have a visit to the orthodontist because he felt a bracket snap as he was trying to mold them.Second, since these came with 3 guards, I thought that since the first one didn’t work with the printed manufactures instruction on the box, I would use the suggestions of others in the reviews. These were worse and you definitely need the boiling water for these to budge at all but the boiling water causes them to bend out of place and completely flatten.Third, after consulting our orthodontist, people with braces should never use a moldable mouth guard. They referred us to a specific brand that is easily found on Amazon or your nearest Dick’s.I hope this review helps others not make the same mistakes as we did.

I was very disappointed when I put this in boiling water. I should've taken some people's advice and just put it in hot water. It started to melt and was so difficult to hold never mind to maneuver into my childs mouth to fit.

Our boys loved these mouth guards for wrestling. Very easy to breath once in your mouth. Value was great, 3 sets for $9. Provided a spare to have if one was misplaced or fell on the floor. I would say just use hot water but not boiling to mold them.

Bought for my kids (9,7,6) for flag football. They lasted a total of 4 weeks. They didnt form well to the kids mouths despite following directions to a T, but they wore them anyways. By week 4 they had chewed/bit through them and the two layers of plastic separated.

These mouth pieces are awesome! All three of my boys ranging from 5,8 and 10 years old use them. No complaints and the caring case is a bonus. My boys have gone through plenty of mouth pieces over the years and I think these by far are the best. I definitely recommend.
