Made in the USA from a compound of acrylic and liquid inlay, this is a fine material for making your custom knife handle. Make sure your tools are sharp and drill slowly to avoid tear out (it's helpful to have a scrap piece to receive the bit when drilling). Each item is selected for its unique inlay pattern, and is one of a kind. The four blocks shown in the image have had one side lightly buffed to illustrate the diversity of appearance among different blocks. Product sold is one single block, without this buffing.

Great product
Just like all kirinite these guys make, it is fantastic and as advertised. Granted, it is more brittle than the pair of 1/4" or 3/8" blocks these guys sell, but it's cheaper and sold as one, thick piece. This stuff is easy to sand with a dremel, so that's a plus and probably why it is complained to be brittle. Bottom line: great price, perfect and beautiful for knife/gun handles.UPDATEJust ordered another one, Red Russet. It is gorgeous, a little sparkly, but it will be dimmed by the black. Can easily cut with a hacksaw, a regular knife won't work, though.

Give it one star because the color is very nice, but that’s really pointless as you can’t do anything with it. It is full of air bubbles making it impossible to turn. One piece shattered on the lathe even with me being super careful. The piece I finished turning and polished had bubbles throughout making it worthless. I would never buy this again.

Beautiful but fragile
I didn’t listen to the warnings. It’s very easy to break. Cut thick and work it slowly because you’ll waste your money. I’m down to my last slice and praying it doesn’t break. I’ll find a more forgiving material next time.

Maybe not the best meterial for handles but damn it looks awesome
Well it may be from my novice ability using this type of handle material or I just was too rough. I was making a handle for a knife and pre placing pins to get a good fit when snap. It broke right at the middle pin. Disappointed yes but I may salvage it somehow.

Brittle shatter-block
Too brittle. I've turned many dozens of pens, this shattered repeatedly while drilling. After finally getting two pieces drilled (it was thick enough to cut for several pens if it weren't so brittle), the blanks shattered on my lathe.Do. Not. Buy!

Good Acrylic
Very satisfied with this product. In the picture, it looks a little glossy, that is expoxy. It is not glossy at all in its normal state. (I had already cut into the original bock for a project. What you see ISNT what you get. The product is the same as its description.)

The color was a bit different than shown.
A little sad about these as they didn't have to color or detail as shown. However they will still be very nice knife scales.

Happy Customer
Happy with this product. It is brittle, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. I found that you can chip the edges for a cool rocky effect.

Great look... Probably best for experienced users
The patterns in this material are amazing, but I've now shattered two of them while drilling holes for the pins.
