ERGO DRIVE 40299 Gel Posterior Cushion

Wife got this for me years ago and we finally got a new one. I am a truck driver with back issues. My job requires a lot of physical labor for each delivery. This is a god send. The only issue is sometimes the gel gets heated to a point it stops cooling .I had to use this in my car as well after a injury. Appreciate it greatly. Lasts a long time.

I purchased one cushion at a auto pasty’s store. My wife took it from the car to use with our wooden dining rooms chairs. Liked them so much, I ordered more.

Very comfortable and a great size.

Not quite as supportive as I expected or hoped but still a good product.

This posterior cushion is designed for you to sit on in the car. It is fairly comfortable but even with my car seat lowered, it raises the seat level enough that I find it’s slightly more difficult to get in and out of the car. (I am fairly short, 5 foot two.) Also, the shape and texture of this means you cannot easily slide your body to face the open door for proper dismounting. If you have back trouble, you don’t want to twist and bend at the same time.Other than that, I think it is helpful for long rides. And I need all the help I can get because riding for more than two hours often causes my back and hips to hurt. The box says this is made in China. Spot clean only, do not heat dry and do not dry clean. There is a California proposition 65 warning, meaning something in it could cause cancer or reproductive harm, so do not give this to a child or pet who might chew on it.

This review is for the Ergo Drive Gel Posterior Cushion. Very comfortable cushion. It isn’t too thick, like some of these cushions tend to be, at only 2”. The width and depth is also good at 16.5”x15”. This one uses memory foam, which is great and very comfortable. But what really sets it apart is the cooling gel layer on top in the middle, covered by mesh fabric to get the most out of the gel. The gel layer itself is 8” wide at the widest point, and 9.5” deep, so it covers a good bit of the top. This layer really transfers the heat away to keep you cool, and prevent the memory foam layer underneath from overheating you.It is all contained in a zippered cover that can be removed for cleaning as necessary. The bottom has a non-slip surface design to help keep the cushion in place.The only slight thing I don’t like about this one is that the zipper is on the very button, including the zipper pull tab. So you do have to be careful when position the cushion to keep it from damaging the seat it is placed on. Other than this one aspect, it is a great cushion.

Ok, this is really a fabulous cushion. BUT, it is not going to work out for every vehicle. If your vehicle has lumbar support and/or heated seats...leather seats...weird "fancy" seat covers...then this may not be the right thing for you.My husband's truck has all of those things. Well, it's technically mine now that he's dead. Anyways...I got this thinking perhaps the truck would be more comfortable and it ended up being impossible. I couldn't lower the seat enough. I couldn't get comfortable. It was bad enough that I had to pull it out from under me while driving. I couldn't pull over because there were a bunch of cars behind me.This cushion has now become the cushion on my desk chair. Since I work at home and spend a lot of time at my desk, I'm essentially always questing for a way to make things more comfortable. This is absolutely the best solution I have found in over 3 years for that.So, while it didn't work out as originally intended, it ended up working out really well for something else in a way that I feel is even better.
