I originally purchased the unit a couple months ago. It arrived quickly and as described. Unfortunately it stopped working the second time using it. I left a two star review which can be seen below. The company contacted me asking if I would like to give it another chance. Within a couple days I received a new unit. I don't like to get free products and most likely had just gotten a bad unit so I figured I would put it through its paces. It just so happened to be hunting season and raining for a week straight. I used it to get into the right locations at night to sit and wait for dawn. The red light really helps keep yourself less noticeable but more than enough to get through the woods at night... in the rain. This review is absolutely fair and honest. The product is surprisingly bright and lightweight.I would recommend buying this product!Original Review:"Mine broke the second time using it, the main light failed. I bought this on a whim, not knowing the brand at all. The quality is decent with a nice wide head band that stays put. The light itself is very bright and seems to be made well enough. I'll update this review if the thing falls apart.The button has a nice positive click when pressed although the spring tension of the button needs more of a squeeze actually as you need a finger under the light when you push it. This doesn't bother me though, although I could see how in some situations you might need an easier button to push. The button is a good size as well, so I guessing you could squeeze it with gloves on.My one main gripe about this light is that you must cycle through every mode to turn the thing off. Most higher quality lights now turn off on the second click if the light has been on in the same mode for more than three or five seconds. This is highly annoying to me as there are four modes to cycle through. High beam, low beam, red and strobe light.The light can swivel down and stays at whatever angle as there are toothed plastic pieces that hold it in place. I can see this being a weak point in the future as I've had two other headlamps of two different brands that both failed at the swivels. Also the battery lid is held by a small clip. There is a thin rubber gasket to seal it, but I wouldn't expect much as far as water resistance. The clip on the battery door could be another problem area, but I suppose if you only change batteries once in a while it might hold up for years.Still, it's hard to complain about a $10 light that came with batteries.

I bought this for the red light and hands free use while using my telescope. It is bright enough to light up what I need to see yet not so bright as to degrade my night vision. Once I am done, I click it until the white light shows and I have plenty of light to take down my equipment and haul it back into the house. There is also a subdued white that is useful so you don't wake the neighbors by shining the light into their windows.

I would had given 5 stars, but Oceantimes Customer Service was terrible. As far as the headlamp goes, What's not to love? The led is certainly powerful enough to light up a dark room and blinding if you look directly at the led. I recommend that you do not do that btw. It also has a dimmer light that would suffice as well. The two red lights are pretty cool looking as well as useful and the white strobe (SOS) light with the red lights flashing would definitely serve it's purpose if needed. Even though it's plastic it does feel like it's durable enough to withstand a little bruising. It fits comfortably and securely on your head with the stretchy band and doesn't seem to wobble at all. It pivots four positions downward or upwards if you decide to wear it upside down. It takes 3 AAA batteries that are included. Note: You must take the plastic off of the batteries or it simply will not work lol. Overall it is a wonderful useful product and hopefully it will last for many more years to come. I just wished I knew about this product years ago. There were Sooooo many times I could have put this headlamp to use. Now I have one and life is good. Gotta Love Amazon

Red light is weakI got this mainly for the red lights. They are really weak. Compare to my store bought Energizer headlamp, which throws a strong red light, This light dissipates to uselessness at 5-10 feet. Useful at arm length only.The white lights are bright and strong. it looks nice and fits well.If you don't care about the reds, then its a fine lamp.small update: bought a semi-expensive headlamp from REI. That has a super-weak red-beam, too -- no better than this lamp's beam. Maybe I just lucked out with that energizer lamp - I think it is the 7-led one (just counting the leds on my lamp, but i've had it for a while, so no idea if the new model is the same).

I really like the red light, but the power on this flashlight glitches and does not work very well. I really like the red light, because you can see at night in your tent without bothering others or totally night blinding yourself.
