No more burnt edges
Takes all of about 10 seconds to put on the pie and that is it. Foil was sooo frustrating. So glad I purchased these.

Fit any pie plate, need care in placement
These shields do the job just fine! But...I generally let the pie bake most of the way unshielded, and add the shield near the end to prevent further browning. I found it hard to get them adjusted to the right size and then STAY CONNECTED when adding them to a hot pie in the oven. The little knob/slot arrangement to choose size is not terribly secure, so maneuvering the shield onto a 350-degree pie, with a long end dangling down, meant some very close manipulation through oven mitts or hot pads... Also, careful when taking them off, not to let the (floppy from heat) shield touch the still-tender crust.

Best thing since the lint roller!
I bake a LOT of pies - - desserts, main dish, appetizers, etc. With that in mind, I’ve been using foil strips and tents for years. Of course they work, but the extra time and effort as well as the waste is an issue. Foil is frustrating to keep on if you’re not used to doing it.These make all of that disappear. As soon as they came, I washed them and wrapped them over a couple pies. They fit easily. They don’t stick to filling. They wash up easily. They wrap around the crust like a dream! Set the timer and pull them off about 15 minutes before the end of baking. NO MORE OVERBAKED CRUSTS!NOTE: These do get HOT in the oven, so you’ll use tongs to easily pull them out of the oven in time for your crust edges to brown nicely. Drop them into the sink while they cool. Rinse and dry. I store mine in a gallon ziplock to keep them clean between bakes. I’ve used two together on a 13x9 - - but I’d love to see a rectangular set come out.Smaller pies/store-bought crusts? They overlap. Larger pies/homemade dishes? They connect. Someone is a GENIUS. Can’t say enough about these. LOVE!!

They serve their purpose
Using these was a major upgrade to using foil! They go on easily and I like that they’re adjustable. The most valuable aspect to me is that they don’t sink down onto the pie and create smudges. These are a must have for anyone who makes single crust pies!

These work!
These pie crust shields work better than any I've had. Love the adjustable tab. I've learned to put that part at an angle where there's room to get them off easily when they are hot out of the oven and need to go back in for that final 10-15 minutes. They are very hot to the touch at first, so do use gloves when taking them off.

Difficult to keep it in place
I got tired of cutting foil & trying to put it around my pie crusts. I thought this would be a great help. However, it is hard to keep in place.

Pie pie pie
I’ve been crushing on these for a few years. I was assigned multiple pies last Thanksgiving and took the plunge. My oven is a little uneven so my crust often goes too brown by the time the bottoms set. I have used the tinfoil trick, but usually by the time I realize I’m crisping up too much I have to fight the tinfoil and fold or cut to shape and I get all frazzled. I add these at the beginning and forget about it. My only grevience is they are a little more than I wanted to pay since I only make pies or quiche a few times a year but I figure they will last forever and I won’t scorch another pie.

Happy with Purchase
I used this a few times over the holidays. I'm finding it easier to use each time. There is a learning curve to this as it is very flexible, but it does get easier. Don't be afraid to work with it. Also I don't bake alot of pies and quiche(what I will be using these for), so I'm not as comfortable using a shield in general as some. Still I think this is one of those little gadgets that make baking a little easier. Maybe I will make/bake more pies. At least my husband hopes so.
