I haven't used any yet, but through the plastic it looks like medium orchid bark should, and I'm grateful that the bag did not open or spill during transit, as some reviewers of orchid bark products reported.

I was hesitant ordering this because other reviewers various complaints, but it’s the most cost effective I could find so I took a chance. The bag wasn’t busted open, overall the bark looks good, but there were some springtails in it. I panicked when I saw bugs, but did some research and apparently springtails love bark and it’s pretty common, and they won’t harm the plants. If you put them in a sunny spot they will leave, they don’t like it apparently.

Within two months, the stuff in the bag molded over completely--or it has some king of white root bug (hoping the former, for the sake of my plants). I recommend baking this in the oven prior to using to kill whatever might be on it.

I looked at the pictures closely and thought I was ordering fine (small) grade bark that would be suitable for potting a small orchid. The ad showed small pieces in the palm of a hand so I felt comfortable that it was the right size. It's not. The pieces are too large to fill smaller root spaces so I'm unable to use it for my orchids. Otherwise it seems nice and I will use it in my soil mixes for my larger plants.

Not sure where they store these but was hoping to receive dry bark but instead the inside of the bag was full of humidity and the bark felt soft.

Purchased this item to repot my orchids. I have lost 3 so far and 2 more are near dead. The item contains mold and is causting sytemic root rot to a large portion of my collection. I have tried miracle gro orchid mix in the past with the same result. I clearly need to purchase better quality bark.
