A sweet story of an army ranger coming to terms with his PTSD/ survivors guilt and his new feelings for Julien his dog trainer. His brother Lucky comes across better in this book than he did in Ballsy Boys Hearts book. Lots of animal extras inc. a bed stealing donkey and a goat with pool noodles on his horns.

These authors sure do bring on the emotions.
Ranger led me right into a rollercoaster of emotions, and boy was it a fantastic rollercoaster. We have a link in to the Ballsy Boys series here with Ranger being Lucky’s brother. And while the catch up we get with Lucky and his men probably would benefit from reading the Ballsy Boys series just for that link it’s definitely not necessary as it would stand perfectly as a story in its own right.Ranger is wounded and feels broken, his PTSD really affecting his whole life. Wanting to start moving on from this he reaches out for his brother’s help...which is the start of it all for him. Meeting Julian, an animal trainer who as part of his role trains dogs for veterans, is a big step in him moving forward. Not only does he gain the adorable Benny, who is a huge part in him healing, but he gains Julian and another side of him begins to heal too.I loved Ranger’s character. He was fighting so hard to regain himself - he really was a complex character. Julian too was a great character, completely opposite of Ranger and just who Ranger needed to take that first step with.I loved all the animals - Butler and Doc in particular had me laughing, and the animals were one of the rollercoaster moments for me.I’ve not read many books where a main character has PTSD - but I really felt that this one showed me, someone with no experience with PTSD, how it affects people. A fantastically written rollercoaster of emotions!

Another beautiful read!
This book had everything, all the feels, ex ranger, animal trainer, wildfires, sailing and more. I really enjoy getting to know Ranger and how amazing Benny was for his ptsd. Julian was incredible and just what Ranger needed! There were lots of giggles, sexiness, animal antics and of course catching up although briefly with Lucky, Heart and Mason from Ballsy Boys. Beautiful story.

Fantastic
These ladies did another fantastic job. Absolutely loved both Ranger and Juilan, they were so easy to root for. Story was amazing and completely emotional. I was invested and hooked from page one.The one and only negative I have to note is when Ranger and Julian go sailing with Lucky and his men Heart is introduced as Heart but then referred to as Gunner (by Julian) before we switch to Rangers POV and then he's referred to as Heart again. It's a little thing but it really jarred me out of the story for a moment as I had to go back and check I hadn't missed something.Other than that though a very worthwhile read.

Ranger
Ranger pops up in Heart's book in the Ballsy Boys series and is one of those characters what just needs his own story. His brother Lucky knows Ranger is struggling with survivors guilt and PTSD and puts him in touch with animal trainer, Julian, to get a service dog. What starts with friendship between Ranger and Julian becomes much more. There's very little ansgt and drama as Ranger is already somewhat accepting of his Bi status. There was a lot to like about this. Sweet moments and a few laughs. It was also nice to see Lucky, Heart and Mason. I wouldn't say it's necessary to have read the Ballsy Boys books first but I'm sure it adds to the story

Great read
I like books that aren't super angsty but have really interesting development so really enjoyed this. Julian is an animal trainer who provides Ranger with a therapy dog to help his PTSD and romance blooms. Both characters were very sweet and the inclusion of all their pets was a bonus. It gave a little insight to living with PTSD and the issues former veterans experience which was good in that it gave me some understanding but made it clear that the effects are very individual. I loved reading my way through this love story - gave me a lovely cuddly feeling and the sex steamed up my glasses!

Thoroughly enjoyed it
It takes a lot for me to laugh at a book but this one had me howling in places. Rangers phone calls to his friend had me in stitches I hope he gets a book! This is a sweet heartwarming story that gave me all the feels. I could relate so much to Ranger and I was just happy for him every moment that things moved forward for him.If you like sweet well written MM romance this one is definitely worth a read, especially if you like a dollop of humour.

Adorable!
Ranger and Julian's story is a wonderful balance of hurt/comfort steadiness and sweet relationship building. Honestly, I think it's quite the feat to handle PTSD and loss themes so sensitively without straying into angsty territory.I really like both main characters, how they're able to support each other and nurture their budding relationship. It's good to get a bit of page time with some familiar faces, too, and the animal side characters are great.Ranger gets 5* from me...love it!
