I found it near impossible to get a clean crimp of the female fastener - even using a handheld tool that I bought for pressing/crimping snap fasteners. I was installing them on 12 gauge vinyl, which is pretty thin (same problem on thicker 20 gauge too). But, even when I first ground down the stud to about half its original depth, it still would not squash out evenly when using my tool. I even tried using a typical snap punch tool set - same result (see pic). The other fastener (male I guess) worked perfectly.

These are probably good for very light duty, not often used, thin material. I used them on a medium weight canvas Golf Cart enclosure, and the snaps don't stay snapped as well as expected in light wind conditions.

These snaps are weak and cheap. They barely hold. Might be suitable for some materials, but not leather. Or anything requiring pressure. The outside face is plastic not metal.

They are good for cheaper end snaps.I find the center is small for a solid flare when riviting.

Installation tools not included in package. They ARE shown in the product pictures, but they are not included. Therefore, snaps can’t be installed, so they are useless. I will have to buy different snap set.
