Hello, I did sleep in them once. I won't do it again. They are harder than sponge rollers, but work well. I used the wrapping cream the first time and slept in them. I woke with poodle curls. I have some wave to my hair. I found out that it is better with slightly damp hair. Then, wrap with the cream. Do what you need to do in the house. Then, take them out after 1 1.5 hours. You can wrap again until you know the timing. The curls will be a nice shape. Gently, finger comb your style. You can comb the curls out, if you are not careful. I am still learning about them. They have been a wonderful investment. I only need a few. I can take them on trips and leave everything home. This is my own experience. Don't give up. I will say that you can wrap from the middle. You don't have to start from the end. I have a layered cut, and the gel keeps everything in place. I would buy again. You may also want to get a hair net to keep them in place. Q: Can i sit under a hair dryer??

I think so, but it is difficult for the air to reach all the way past the plastic. You could try the hair dryer first, then walk around with them for a couple of hours or sleep in them.
