One side of the pendant has a raised om symbol with meaningful words about harmony and happiness inscribed in the background, while the reverse side displays an om with words in the symbol. A very interesting piece. The background inscription reads: "Happiness is when what you think, what you say, and what you do are in harmony. Harmony makes small things grow, lack of it makes great things decay." The Om (or Aum) sign is the main symbol of Hinduism, it signifies God, Creation, & the One-ness of all creation. The three portions of AUM relate to the states of waking, dream and deep sleep. The three letters also indicates three planes of existence, heaven, earth and netherworld. Aum is said to be the essence of the Vedas, it is the sound of the Sun and the sound of Light. This sterling silver pendant measures 9/16" in diameter and includes a sterling jump ring.
