QUICK SUMMARY: This item is very inexpensive, yet it delivers exactly what it promises. Just realize that the medallion is pretty small, just a little bigger than a USA quarter.BACKGROUND: I selected this item to wear at a 1980s-themed birthday party. I don't plan on regularly wearing this item. I was simply looking to wear a lot of "bling" to the party, and this item is part of my ensemble.WHAT I LIKE:- The item is exactly as described in the product description- The chain has a nice gold sparkle, could easily be mistaken for pure gold- The chain length was plenty long but not too long. I could even close the clasp on the chain and slip the whole chain over my head so I didn't have to fiddle clasping the chain while it was under my chin- I like history so selecting this item motivated me to read up a bit on Saint Benedict, since I knew nothing about him- The item comes inside a nice little box plus inside the box is a little jewelry big with a cinch top- The product photos provide a lot of interesting information about the meaning behind the medallion. I'm not into religious artifacts (although I am a Christian), so I found this information somewhat intriguing.- Definitely a unisex item, appropriate for either men or women, neither overtly masculine or feminineWHAT COULD BE BETTER:- I selected this item imaging that the medallion would be larger than it is. It's barely bigger in diameter than a USA quarter, and about as thick as quarter, too. I think I was expecting something more the size of a USA fifty cents piece, so I was mildly disappointed. However, the product description (specifically, the product photos) plainly explains the size of this medallion, so I can't deduct any stars for my lack of reading the product description. I wish the language under the product description explained the medallion size, though, because not everyone will click through the product photos.CONCLUSION: Overall, a very inexpensive item that doesn't seem cheap to me. It's a very good value. Recommended.

The details on the medal are difficult to see.

This is a very good quality Benedict medal at a good price. The chain is long enough for an adult to wear comfortably and the medal itself is satisfyingly large and weighty without being uncomfortable. This is a perfect Confirmation gift and besides monks, Benedict is the patron saint of schoolchildren and kidney disease, all bases covedred!
