Cost cottage
This was a magical story set in Ireland with great characters and romance. Another winner from Julie Caplin. I think I've read all her books and each one was positively heartwarming.

A irresistible mix of perfect escapism and edge-of-your-seat scenarios
This was my first time reading Julie Caplin's work, and I was pleasantly surprised that an irresistible mix of perfect escapism and edge-of-your-seat scenarios produce a delightfully humorous and captivating read.Food, cottages, and romance in an ideal setting. What more could a girl ask for! The story is set in scenic County Kerry, Ireland, although we first meet Hannah Campbell (the book’s protagonist) in Dublin where she’s charmed by the handsome and mysterious Connor, unaware of his connection to her final destination, a six-week-long cookery course. Once in Killogally circumstances conspire to keep throwing the two together despite their best efforts. The story is full of twists and turns and mysteries aplenty, a heart-warming read that is difficult to put down. Having a clean, uncluttered writing style that ensures reading is a pleasure. The supporting characters in the book are as heart-warming and engaging as the main characters themselves.

It was wonderful to return to the romantic escapes world with a story set in Ireland. It had the perfect amount of everything a book could need, can’t wait to go to Scotland in the next book

Lovely easy read
This was a non testing relaxing read. Liked the characters and themes and writing style. And yes I wanted to move to Ireland after reading it! Great feel good book when you just want to escape normal life. Really enjoyed it. My tiny, petty complaint about it is - adoptive parents are “real parents” in every shape and form! They are not pretend or fake. The parents who made you are birth parents. Looking forward to reading more by this author when I don’t feel like a challenging read.

Loved it!!! Seriously steamy chemistry from the get go
Hannah wasn't really expecting to end up in Connor's lap in a Dublin bar, to help him hide from someone but when she does, it sets in motion a whole course of events she couldn't have predicted!I really enjoyed Hannah's story, we can all identify with the feeling that we don't know what we're good at or where we're supposed to be, but Hannah finds herself very much at home at the cookery school, even if she's not great at it to start with. The plot moves at a great pace, with Hannah becoming unknowingly absorbed by the kitchen and everything it represents, giving her a chance to find her own happiness.Connor is the ultimate charmer but is also flawed, making him feel more real.Seeing them both trying to make their dreams come true, while bickering and arguing and trying to deny how they really feel was hilarious and relatable. I hope to see them pop up again

I love Julie Caplan!
I started this series years ago and I can't get enough. I was so excited when I saw this book on Kindle I had to purchase it. It was light hearted and I couldn't put it down. I love the different countries that her characters end up in. I also love that she focuses on food. A great series! Caplan knows how to spin a good story!

Awareness rather than escape
Which pattern does your life follow - and why? Are you happy - or where you meant for something else? And if so - what can you do to get there? This is the underlying theme of all the "secret escape" books. What is their attraction? It definetely is designed to be a "feeling good" - book. Wonderful descriptions of nature and the most beautiful cities on Earth (you can enjoy it even better, if you've been, if not, you will want to after reading the books), and lot's of talking about food and cooking. But more than that: the story about someone leading a life in which they are quite content, only to realize that they could have more and discover their passion - is quite inspiring. The fact that you encounter a new version every book empasises the effect on you. Also, since all the characters interrelate somehow or other, you quickly develop an emotionally relation to the events which makes the books message "Live your best life, find your passion!" work on a deeper level. So be warned - these books are not for entertainment only - they have a magic of their own, which might just change your life.
