I suspect a lot of people will pick this up due to the author, and you are very right in doing so. This has all the drama, sass, glitter, sequins and glamour that you would expect, and more.Danny is a great main character, being the life and soul of the house which features a wonderful bunch of misfits which somehow live brilliantly together. You cant help but picture a young Horwood as Danny. Each character has their own personal or career goals and has their own battles to face but still support each other too. I definitely felt the family vibe, and each character really has its own unique qualities.There's a lot of comical scenes in this, its light hearted, fun, cheeky and bonkers at times. But this isn't afraid to tackle serious and important subjects such as homophobia, discrimination and manipulation too. This blend really makes this book extra special. I would love to walk into 27 Diamond Street and I'm certain that I would not know what on earth I'd find behind that door.

I bought this out of curiosity because of Craig's appearances on Strictly and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's light, well-written, balanced, has an actual storyline that's full of nuances with a couple of twists that I didn't see coming and I couldn't put it down. There's also an underlying morality which isn't thrust in your face, some well described and very believable characters and the whole story gripped me from beginning to end. It's my first of Craig's books and I'll now be looking out for more. It's lovely bed-time or fireside reading, on the tube, wherever. Thoroughly entertaining.

Yes, very predictable in some parts, but just a nice easy enjoyable read, hope this is the start of something to look forward to.

I just loved this book, Craig described the characters so beautifully that they jumped off the page (well the I-Phone actually) and came to life. Danny is Craig of course, Lil is a white haired Gloria from Shakespere and Hathaway, Cat is my gorgeous flame haired daughter …. I’m a murder mystery kinda girl normally but love Craig and thought I’d give it a shot, I am so glad I did. A lovely easy read which I have been enjoying in the sun, often when I should have been working, but couldn’t put it down.When’s the follow up coming Craig? Need more stories of these characters!

I was dubious about buying this book as just because you are good at dancing, reading the weather or presenting a TV programme doesn't mean you can write. How wrong was I? This book was brilliant, really got into the story, characters were very 'of the time' which was good. Was really sorry when it came to an end.

Never usually do the choose a gay author as its Pride month thing ( not bothered if gay or straight tbh as long as write a good book ) but unintentionally did with this choice and tbh am gladIt was fun, set at 27 Diamond Street in Camden in the 90’s with a wealth of characters living there, Lil the old hippie who has a tale to tell about what she did with every old singer/actor, Danny ( the lead character ) gay and uptight but with a heart of gold, Lachlan the Australian nurse trying to forget his past, Cat and Danny dancers who are looking to make it big, Jewel newly in London and needs to be accepted for who he is…plus more….I genuinely loved them all and wanted to go round and meet them…they had such laughs ( and parties ) and were really a big family…of course this included having problems and setbacks and coping with some very serious homophobia but they faced it all togetherYou can hear CRH throughout in the narration ( well I could )Pretty perfect for a good lol romantic, yet not worried re tackling real challenges, read

I bought this as a gift for my wife as it was on her Amazon Wish List. I cannot comment on the read itself but the book was the usual good Amazon value, excellent condition and fast delivery.
