Used to convert a LP turkey fryer to Natural Gas
The media could not be loaded. Wow this thing puts out some serious heat! I converted a Liquid Propane turkey fryer to natural gas for ease of use and eliminating the need to get propane refills. This burner got my 34 Qt pot boiling in less than 15 minutes. Seafood boils are now a breeze!See pictures and video for details. If this review helped you let me know by marking as helpful thanks!(Disclaimer -Use at own risk / for informational purposes only / follow all local code rules and regulations)These are the parts I used to convert:- Bayou Classic High Pressure 14 inch Cooker Model # SP10 ASIN# B000291GBQ- 1/2 inch by 10 inch black gas pipe - Orange Big Box store SKU #1001790506- Midline Gas Ball Valve - Model # GUHW-5IS34G ASIN# B00OQA75W6- Harvey Gas PTFE thread seal tape - ASIN# B000FKBXCE- 2 Stainless steel hose clamps - check your garage you probably have these laying around lolHow to:- The Bayou Classic burner is held on by 1 screw on the bottom, unscrew it and remove the burner.- I bent the original mounting bracket down to an L shape an inch or two lower than original to have the burner sit as close to level as possible without having to cut up the stand housing.- Use the 2 SS hose clamps to secure the jet burner to the mounting bracket.- The 1/2 inch black pipe can now thread into the burner - make sure to use Yellow sealant tape or pipe dope rated for gas.- Install the Gas Ball Valve on the other end of the 1/2 inch pipe.- My outdoor Weber natural gas grill line uses a 3/8 flare female connection which connects perfectly to the other side of the Ball gas valve.- To light just open the ball valve less than a quarter turn and use a long neck lighter- Once a burner is lit, you can slowly turn the gas higher so that the rest of the burners will light.

Let the boil commence. Warp speed engage!
I love this burner. I ran an 18 inch black steel pipe to a shut off, then on through a quick connect hose to my house gas supply. Very simple. This thing puts out enough BTU to heat my huge pot to a boil very quickly, and it recovers the boil after adding the boil ingredients just as fast.

Worked ok
I wanted to swap the propane burner on my turkey fryer for this natural gas one. I was able to make the swap but it does not burn 100% clean and does have some orange flame and will leave carbon deposits on the pot I use to boil maple syrup.

Super hot burner even with natural gas!
Using this for homebrewing with natural gas. I was using a gas ball valve to control the flame but I have since ordered a wok burner valve because this thing burns like a jet engine. Be careful not to melt your pot! I have 1/2 valve with rubber on the handle that melted off because I had the flames too hot.... that being said, once I got the gas turned down just enough to keep it lit, it was perfect. Room temp to mash/boil in minutes and then I adjusted down to a light rolling boil.... awesome!

Way hotter than a normal turkey fryer
Converted one of my turkey fryers to Natural Gas for homebrewing. This thing heats up water in a hurry. It brought 8 gallons of 55-degree water up to 170 degrees in about 20 minutes. After mashing, it brought a 5-gallon batch to a boil in about 15 mintues; a 10-gallon batch (14 gal mashed wort) up to a boil in about 30-40 minutes. This thing's going to save so much time on brew day. I'll be converting my other brew stand to natural gas after working with this.As others have mentioned, it does leave some soot on the bottom of your pot. Not a problem for me, but just FYI.Some tips, because it's not easy to find (and natural gas can be dangerous). Standard 1/2" black pipe screws just fine into this. I used a 10" length, and is plenty long. Mounted to my existing stand using some U-Bolts. Be sure to use yellow (not white) Teflon tape on your fittings, and test your connections with soapy water before lighting.

Shrimp boil is on!
I purchased this to convert an old Turkey Fryer to natural gas so I didn't have to worry about frozen LP tanks or more so running out. I also needed more BTU to keep 100qt stock pot boiling during a shrimp boil. This worked perfectly! I can bring a 100qt pot (half full) to a rolling boil in 40 minutes. That’s very good from my experience. Boiling doesn’t shut down either when you put in food...just keeps rolling. I ran it without a natural gas appliance regulator initially to test it and then found one at Menards in stock for $22. The regulator does not restrict the flow at all and I highly recommend you use one. You never know what your house pressure might do and don’t need to risk a flare up or explosion with littles running around, etc. This thing shoots flames and gets HOT, be careful.

Holy cats be careful...
Yes this thing is crazy powerful. My fiance used this to convert a turkey fryer and ran a line out from our house gas. We used it to boil down maple sap from our trees to make maple syrup. The first time, he fell asleep on the couch. When I walked to the other end of the house I could smell burning sugar (a horrid smell) and ran outside. It had carbonized the syrup and burnt out the bottom of the pan. The second time he fell asleep and ruined my good stock pot (although it was caught before the sugar/heat burned out the bottom of the pan the second time).Long story short, be careful this thing is powerful (which if you're looking at it, I'm guessing that's what you want). If you're not as tired/halfarsed as we are, it should be PERFECT.
