Great new way to fix salmon
Just got these and made salmon for the first time. It was amazing. The boards are big and fit my Weber gas grill front to back. They appear to be good quality. My only challenge was finding something long enough to soak them in. Ended up using a 5-gallon bucket. As is the case with wood chips for smoking, I definitely recommend soaking these for a good long time. They say two hours but I soaked mine for 6 hours before grilling. I used two boards for four good-sized salmon filets and had room for some asparagus. The boards blackened on the bottom and smoked a little, which is what imparts the fabulous flavor. But I think they are definitely good for at least a couple more rounds of grilling. The flavor is wonderful and we'll definitely be putting the rest of the boards to work fixing our new favorite salmon meal.

Perfect size for a salmon slab
These cedar planks are quite remarkable. The size is perfect for grilling a side of salmon. The cedar flavor comes though nicely and the planks don’t dry out as fast as other brands that I have tried. The planks are large so make sure you have a large cookie sheet that you can put the plank on and submerge in water. The plank itself won’t fit in most kitchen sinks to soak. I put it on a large cookie sheet and fill with water until the plank floats. Then I put a jar on top of the plank to submerge it in the water completely. Usually an hour is perfect for good results.

Perfect for salmon
These are a staple in my grilling. They even have a really good recipe for a dry rub that I frequently use with these cedar planks for salmon fillets. The best part is they're the biggest I've found, so those farmed salmon fillets from Costco fit on one, and if not, just fold the small end underneath. Soaking a plank is a snap using a large cooking sheet; put the plank in, then use the extendable faucet to fill the pan enough that with a bowl of water will sink the plank. An hour is enough, though longer will give you more uses of the plank. Twenty minutes at medium heat 350-450F on my Weber kettle or Big Green Egg with the lid on will cook the fish perfectly, melt the smoke and rub into a gorgeous copper colored glaze, and the taste of cedar smoke on salmon is superb! The board will get charred on the bottom, but that's not a problem. You can get several sessions per board. l've been a fan of these for probably ten years, but this is my first time ordering through Amazon. Quick delivery, good price, and awesome product!

Nice large size!
These cedar planks are good. We really like the larger size. They work well for a large piece of salmon. Many planks available are too small. The ends of the planks are very raw and crumble or break off so little bits of wood can get in your food. I just make sure I brush off the bits really well after soaking so that doesn't happen.

Simple recipe for a fantastic grilled salmon
I have been purchasing these Coastal Cuisine cedar grilling planks for years because they're the only ones I could find that are large enough for those huge center cut salmon fillets sold at my local Costco, which average 2-3 lbs. each. Here's a very simple grilling recipe that is sure to be a hit. Get the McCormick Grill Mates Cedar Plank Salmon seasoning (or if you can't find this, instead get the McCormick Grill Mates Seafood seasoning which has exactly the same ingredients, it appears to be the same product with a different name for appealing to a broader market). Sprinkle and rub the salmon fillet on both sides with the seasoning. Place the seasoned fillet on a cedar plank that has been soaked for at least 2 hours (longer is better) and place this on top of a sheet of aluminum foil to help avoid flareups. Grill covered at 400 degrees until cooked evenly -- a 3 lb. fillet will be done in around 30 minutes, smaller fillets require less time. The finished salmon will be golden brown on the outside while remaining juicy and moist throughout, and have a complex but delicious smoky flavor. I have received many compliments from guests I've served this to, including a few who had said they weren't fond of salmon to begin with

Great product and reasonable price.
I use plank grilling fish all the time. I have used many different planks from very expensive to cheap ones. These planks are large which is great for a good size fish. They give the best smoking flavor to fish. They don’t catch on fire.Great buy and I strongly recommend them

Great size!
I looked and had a hard time finding these size planks. The size is perfect, because we entertain a lot and make a lot of planked salmon and the small boards are not big enough. They burn perfectly and give the fish a perfect balance of smoke. Also great with filet mignon, shrimp, chicken, pork and vegetables.
