Really disappointed in this pole
Still giving it a 3 Star as it's OK, but I've used cheaper poles for years and after forgetting yet another one in an attic, I stupidly decided to splurge a little and get the classic "Grabbit". I've bought products from LSD for almost 2 Decades now and like them, but this is my first experience with this pole is a major disappointment for me.Let's start with the good, the fiberglass material is good, OK, I'm out of good, now for the criticism. First off, I hate that it has a removable rubber cap to keep the extensions from sliding out, other pole were done better. The pole slides way too easily and takes off on it's own if given even a slight downward angle. This can work to an advantage, but is very frustrating when it slides out and you don't want it too, and it happens often which is the main reason I'll soon be replacing this pole and make this one my spare. Last thing, and I never thought about this until now, I don't like the color. I've used the green, orange, yellow and white (not recommending white) poles before and I'm not liking the black mainly because it is harder to find in my cluttered work truck, when trying to locate the collapsed pole in an attic (black blends in more) and a little harder to distinguish tip location while fully extended and searching for wires (haven't used the LED tip light yet). I forgot so now this is lastly, and this was complained about in other reviews, the base is NOT secured well at all. The pole even comes with a warning note to be careful with use. NO, this is a journeyman tool, not some sort of sophisticated, delicate equipment. I wouldn't buy a drill if it came with a warning "Do Not Drop At A Height Of Over 3 Feet". Well, even trying to be careful, it only took my second time using it for the pole to slide back fast enough that it knocked to boot right off the back of the pole. Luckily, I was able to find the boot in the insane amount of insolation; Labor Wasted Devices.Never buying this pole again, but still like the company and will continue reordering the other products I get from them.

Right tool for the right job
I purchased this device specifically for pulling a cable in a basement crawl space. I didn't know it at the time, but I wouldn't have been able to get the cable without this tool, I thought I could crawl fairly close in the crawlspace. As it turns out, I could only get to about within 20 feet of the cable, there wasn't enough room for me to continue crawling. Extending this device out fully and then extending my arms, I was able to grab the cable, on the first try and haul it back to my location. So, thank you LSD!Pros: Extends a full 18 ft very quickly in telescoping fashion. The included hooks really grab onto the cables.Cons: The tube's construction feels like heavy duty cardboard, I had expected fiberglass for the price. Have to be careful with the z hook, it does have sharp inside edges to catch or pull cable, but you could also damage the cable if you are not careful.

Well worth the purchase price!
I work for a cable company and this thing paid for itself the first time I did not have to crawl under a nasty house. Some may be thrown it off by the price but it is definitely worth it. I did not use the provided hook with it I just used a j-hook put on with tie straps and black tape. Works like a champ!

Very handy for solo cable running.
Seems pricy, but if you do a lot of cabling, you'll get your money's worth quick. Make long reaches very easy. Very solid construction and easy to use.

it's an amazing tool! it's a time saver. it works wonderful for shortcuts. fishing wires from one point to another was a pain but with this tool it's way faster.

Meh
No advantage over fish sticks... Too long when collapsed to get above ceiling. Too awkward to expand and doesn't lock when expanded
