No more bugs in the house
This product doesn’t take up much room, but it does the job! Fruit flies were trying to take over the kitchen, until we ran this machine. Now they are gone!

Does the job
The bug zapper definitely does its job! My children are always in and out of the door and allow flying bugs to come in so we really needed something to get rid of them. Works great

The Vaporizer
I had been using one of those tennis racket bug zappers where you have to chase the flies around and swing at them. But it's too easy to damage something else as you swing and miss. I have an old Panasonic plasma TV, which is super bright, and the flies love to land on the screen and suck up all that brightness. Once, I almost smashed the racket into the screen and decided to try Plan B.So, this made more sense. Let the flies come to this on their own. They are attracted by the bright light and the grid zaps them. The dead flies are supposed to drop to the bottom of this device. I can hear this killing the flies but when I go to empty the catch bin I can't find many. My theory is that this zapper is just vaporizing them. This is definitely an indoor unit only with a very short power cord. Quite a bit more expensive than a racket model but at least you're not chasing flies around and swinging like a madman.

Blue light turns white after several days
Has an attractive (for the bugs) blue light when new but after several days the blue light turns white like a normal florescent light. I have it hanging outside on the edge of my pergola so it does have some exposure to rain and elements. It does get wet. Still attracts and zaps the bugs and if there isnt other lights nearby that the bugs are going to its still functional. Just dont know if the claim about the blue light color attracting bugs is critical and should be attracting more bugs vs a white light. I did get it on sale under $20 bucks each (I bought 2) so my less than 5 star rating is only based on the color light change. Could be there was just a thin coating of blue tint that just burns off with use after just a few days

Popped after just a few months of use.
Popped after just a few months of use. Was working ok then all of a sudden the light turned red, and then made a popping sound, and smelled burnt up. Never worked again, low quality.

Works for me.
In Southern California, we get these tiny irritating flies about this time of year. Seeing the large gaps between the electrodes, I was skeptical that this zapper could kill these tiny flies. As soon as I turned out the lights, the zapper went to work, killing these flies. The popping sound indicates a kill.
