Most Excellent TV
The TV is both heavier and more substantially made than I had expected. I don’t know why but I had expected it to seem flimsy, but, no, quite the contrary. It produces excellent pictures from a high definition or 4k source, standard definition is such a let-down now. The sound too is impressive, you’ll only need a high-end soundbar if you have a vast room or want to be a nuisance neighbour; cheap soundbars offer no improvement. There are areas the product description is not clear on, the following is information I discovered with the TV in my living room. I hope somebody out there finds something useful.SATELLITEThe TV has a single F connector satellite input and a built-in Freesat receiver. I transferred the dish cable from my ancient (2003!) Sky box and bingo, the whole gamut of free satellite channels - said to be 170+ - was mine to feast on.I believe a dish installed for Sky Q will not work for Freesat unless its LNB, the electronics on the end of the boom, is changed from the Wideband type used for Sky Q to the Universal type used in earlier installations. The dish itself and the cables and connectors will not need altering. There will be a twin co-ax cable and thus two connectors, it should not matter which is connected to the TV.RECORDINGWith a HDD, SSD, or USB stick connected to a USB socket it is possible to record from either of the two live TV sources, Freeview or Freesat.* It is NOT possible to record from a streaming source such as iPlayer or Prime.* It is NOT possible to record one live TV channel while watching another.* It IS possible to record a live TV channel while watching a streaming source, for example to watch Homecoming (slightly recommended) on Prime while recording F1 highlights on C4. That's an actual case from my sad life. The recording app is started by pressing the Red button (in the horizontal group of four coloured buttons on the remote) for about a second. The type of device that can be used to record on is something I found a great deal of internet misinformation on, so here is what I know for sure.* USB1 or USB2 can be used, or both.* If two USB devices are present you are given the choice of which to use when starting or scheduling a recording.* A USB stick, SSD, or HDD can be used.* The TV will not use any type of device for recording if that device is exFAT formatted, although it will play media files located on such an exFAT formatted device.* To be used for recording a device must be formatted as FAT32 or NTFS. Recent and current portable HDD/SSD devices and USB sticks will likely be suitably formatted.* A USB stick should preferably be USB3, in any event the TV runs a speed test on any stick when it is first used and if is found to be too slow it will be rejected.* If you use an SSD or HDD, beware that its cable is not routed too close to the TV back. I use an SSD and experienced frequent recording corruption in the form of tearing bars across the screen, presumably due to interaction between it and the TV circuitry. UPDATE 27/10 Now resolved after automatic software update.* Device memory capacity vs recording time cannot be reliably predicted because file sizes are largely determined by scene content. For guidance only, assume an hour of HD recording requires 3GB and an hour of SD recording requires 1.5GB; it will be realised even a modest 64GB USB stick (actual capacity 57Gb or less) provides for many hours recording. Both the Freeview and Freesat apps have scheduling screens that enable one to look ahead at planned programming and choose what to record, and those recordings will occur even if the TV is in standby. Note that record scheduling is not smart enough to know if a programme is delayed or cancelled, the original time slot will still be recorded.LIVE PLAYBACKThe TV does offer Live Playback, the feature that provides the "pause live TV" facility, but with the restriction that it can only be used with a USB HDD or SSD connected. It doesn't matter how fast a USB stick is, the TV will not use it for Live Playback. Complain to LG, not me.FILE COMPATIBILTYThe TV has coped with every type of media file I have tried, including Matroska (.mkv) containers with 2160p 4K video and AAC5.1 sound. This has applied to files on USB sticks and drives and to network streamed files. DLNA streaming works perfectly, of course.CONCLUSIONA very fine TV and I’m totally satisfied with it. So glad I didn’t get another LCD model, OLED is the way to go.

PS5 and 4K UHD movie watchers
I've had the TV for 2 months now and used it daily so I will share some thoughts.Firstly I haven't used it to watch terrestrial TV through an area so cannot offer anything on that point. When using Netflix it's best to upgrade your package to the HD package to get the best from the TV.So the magic remote not only is pretty cool and a huge time-saver when inputting email address and passwords into all the apps and for Web browsing, every single remote on earth should be built like this. The PS5 is a dream to play on the TV its easily the smoothest performance I've ever had.I play many 4K Ultra movies from a hard drive (not SSD), I haven't encountered a single problem yet, smooth as you like. When watching anything with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision this TV comes alive, a true cinema experience on the 65" model, the built in speakers literally send vibrations through my settee on volume 20 which just adds to the experience, the picture quality is crisp, clean and bright and quite frankly astonishing, I've never had a experience like it at home. This TV rocks, buy one.

Absolutely brilliant picture
Having spent quite a lot of money on a Sony Bravia 55 inch LED ultra high definition TV, two of which I had to return because of a faulty picture, I am glad I spent a little bit more for this OLED TV. The picture quality is fantastic and well worth the investment. I just can't believe how clear the image is. The sound is OK, but I use a Bose sound system to get better quality. The smart remote is almost too smart for me, but it is quite neat that there is a mouse-type marker on the screen at which you wave the remote to navigate the TV's features. There are a lot of additional apps, but I confine myself to the most basic and it all seems to work fine. Really, very, very pleased with my purchase.

LG B1 55” TV
I am still discovering this TV but oh boy it’s a nice one. Yes potentially if you check and check specs it might not be the best of the best but actually it is a very good one. Nice picture, easy to use . Quite a few things to play with. Potentially the omission of an RCA connection is a problem but all in all not a real issue. The sound as usual is not the best and better to have a sound bar. I think that compared to the C1 it’s worth the compromise as the difference are minimal. Enjoy :)

Great telly - some limitations
The picture quality is superb as is the sound. It's easy to install and use too. The main TV/media apps like iPlayer, All4, YouTube etc. come pre-installed and work without issue (I have decent internet). The base is compact which allows it to fit on tables, cabinets etc. that are smaller than the TV. Some drawbacks are: a) USB (external) storage media can only record the channel you are watching which largely makes this function useless b) there's no subtitle on/off button on the remote (subtitles are available through a bit of menu surfing however).

Best TV I have owned
Great TV, My only regret is not getting a bigger once because the quality is so good. Will probably buy a bigger one for downstairs . I have a 55inch in a medium sized bedroom with viewing distance of around 1.6M.A normal tv that is fine, but because the quality and picture is so good 65inch would be better, but 55 will do
