A bug net by itself can make a world of difference. A bug net treated with Permethrin is pretty much a guarantee you won't get bitten anywhere near your head. As a bonus, it fits my Outback style outdoor hat perfectly.If you are an Ultralight Backpacker, this thing packs down to the size and shape of an egg, and weighs about a 1/2 ounce in it's stuff sack. For me, it's a no-brainer to put it in my pack on any trip.

Incredibly light, takes up very little room, but essential in any backpacking arsenal (in my opinion). Bugs love me, and this little item helps me keep my sanity on hikes and backpacking trips. I kept it in my hip belt pocket, and could easily access it and slip it on whenever the need arose (usually when we would stop to eat, or were at camp). It slips on easily over all types of hats, and provides good coverage for my neck and upper chest. I bought these for other family members as well, and they have used theirs many times too. I noticed the odor of the repellant at first, but it subsides quickly after taking it out of its bag. I am usually quite sensitive to chemical smells, but this was mild, and a small price to pay to keep the insects at bay.

My god where have you been all my life? As a photographer who shoots "everything" there's times I go into the wilderness in search of wildlife, I'm constantly swarmed by little flying monsters. I bought it after learning a colleague carries one for night shoots and will be buying more. Keep one in ever camera bag, one in the car, just have a few everywhere. Flying insects have always been drawn to me and they still hover all around me even with this thing on which is incredible because it's clearly coated in permathin. But they don't care. Sorry for the boredline incoherent review, just got out of a long day. if you're on the fence about this and are hounded by mosquitoes and other flying insects just buy it. Yeah you look stupid but you won't be swatting at crap all day.

Just returned from Glacier National Park and literally this was the greatest accessory. So easy to throw over any hat and it works! I was the talk of the trail.

Yay! Everything I wanted and more, if it was made in Canada, you know it will be good against bugs. I hear it's bad up there. Not too heavy, and comes in a little stuff sack. Packs down to the size of a stress ball. BONUS: works as a stress ball. Pretty cool Eh?

I had pretty good luck with this so far. Its small, comes with its own case. All-in-all a decent deal. I would have liked to give it 4.5 stars because the material seems very thin and like it wouldn't last. But then again, being light and packable is a plus. So far its lasted through several outings without any tears. Maybe its an unfounded fear.I know one other reviewer said he/she had some sticky stuff on theirs. I didn't have any problems like that. It came just as you'd expected it to. So far, so good.

I do not like mosquitos in my face, so this works.

The pyrethin was really strong at first use. A bit dizzying but as time went by the smell became less noticeable. Definitely keeps the skeeters and noseeums at bay.
