Nice solid cabin filter. Works with '13 Matrix
This filter was very solid compared to what I was replacing. The filter that came with my car was very light and flimsy compared to this ATP filter, which is sturdy, well constructed and has more pleats.Easy to install in a 2013 Toyota Matrix and only takes a few minutes. Fit was snug but didn't seem forced. The hardest part was making sure I had the airflow direction the right way since the filter that I replaced had arrows to indicate the direction of orientation instead of the direction of airflow.I can't really measure how much benefit the carbon adds, but I have tree allergies so I figured it would be an improvement over the stock item and worth the little extra for me. I would buy again just on the quality of the filter construction alone.

Perfect in 2009 Toyota Corolla
This fit perfectly in my 2009 Corolla. I noticed an immediate improvement in the smell of the air, which I had not noticed before when installing a new filter. I had unknowingly been using lower quality filters (# 1816) from an auto parts chain store. I would go in, tell them my make and model, and they would hand me a filter. These filters didn't fit well and were so flimsy the last one folded up like an accordion under the slight pressure it took to secure the filter slot cover. Since it didn't cover the entire area it was supposed to, a significant amount of air was bypassing the filter, which I think is the main cause of my AC drain line becoming clogged (in addition to the filter being installed upside down: see blow). While dealing with the clogged drain line and flooded floorboard, I realized the filter was collapsed after it had been in there for months. This filter is rigid enough to hold its shape, but you don't have to force it anyway. This is a great example of the "spend the extra few bucks for drastically better quality" effect—except that this filter was basically the same price as the cheap store-bought one because of higher brick-and-mortar prices.NOTE: as another reviewer reported, the filter had to be installed with its air flow direction arrows pointing opposite the direction of the arrow on the filter slot cover. This was confirmed with some light googling and a highly scientific "lick your finger and stick it in the slot while the air's on" test. Toyota's UP arrow indicates the appropriate orientation of the arrow on their stock filters, but these arrows are the opposite of the actual direction of the airflow (which is down, from the top of the slot to the bottom). Naturally, these (and probably most?) aftermarket filters use airflow direction indicator arrows.

Worth the extra bucks for a clean smelling interior
This product is a high end cabin filter. You will get lower priced cabin filters. So let me cut to the chase and answer if it is really worth the extra bucks... Yes. In my personal experience I have used this product for over 2 months and it was able to cut out moldy odor in my car.Installation was easy but it would be better for them to indicate which side should go in and which side is up. (- 1 star for that)All in all, I am satisfied with the product.

Better and cheaper than auto parts store equivalents
I was getting a funky smell in one of my cars and I ran to the local auto parts store to buy a cabin filter and replaced it there in the parking lot. Got home and decided I should replace my other car's filter but came to amazon instead since it was a "non-emergency". Exact same model (appears to cross between Lexus and Toyota as all three of my cars appear to use this same filter 2007 Camry, 2012 Highlander, and 2014 IS). This one was cheaper by about 1/3 and much better quality that what I got at the auto parts store. I base that on general sturdiness - I'm not sure I can tell a difference as far as the carbon activated feature goes. In fact I worry that the dark color may give me a false positive on needing to change the filter. But overall I liked this and I plan to buy a few and keep them around so I don't have to be at the mercy of the auto parts store next time. Also for anyone thinking about changing their own - do it! This is super easy to do and the dealership or quick oil change places want to charge you $30+ which is a total rip-off - this is a very easy, non-messy do-it-yourself maintenance item.

Works OK, instructions are confusing.
I installed this on my 2014 Toyota Corolla, the filter directions are a bit confusing (hence removed 2 stars). If you arent very hands on with installing car parts you may damage something behind the glove box so see the installation videos properly. Here is one I made where I also made the direction mistake due to wrong instructions with the air filter.[...]I did not see any noticeable difference in air quality to be honest. I got it in a sale and for a decent price. It seems to work and I would buy another one on the next sale :)

Top Shelf Item!
We had a serious A/C odor problem with a used car (2009 Toyota Corolla) we had purchased and after some thorough research on the internet as to how to resolve the issue, PART of the solution, and there were several steps involved which are too long to go into detail (YouTube 'Remove mildew odor from A.C.'... there's a wealth of info to steer you in the right direction) involved changing the cabin filter. To summarize, we decided to go with one that was treated with carbon. Yes, it did cost substantially more than other regular untreated filters we had shopped around for but we wanted to ensure that we wouldn't have to deal with the nasty situation we had endured prior to the fix, and we felt that the carbon activated filter was that "extra insurance". When replacing the existing cabin air filter with this one, I was very happy to see that the money we spent on this filter was in fact worth every cent! Construction of this filter compared to the OEM filter was night and day.The OEM was flimsy and cheap with absolutely no "body" to it. It even got folded over on itself when it was initially installed, leaving a gaping hole that let unfiltered air get by. On the other hand this new filter replacement was durable, sturdy, well fitting, "AND" carbon treated. By far, the superior product. Highly recommended if you don't mind forking out a little more.
