Easy to use, If you sweep across an area from different directions you can tell pretty much exactly where your target is, It's not like a Geiger counter or rf type sweeper that gets louder when closing in, just a single beep when you're close to a target.So far the accuracy isn't bad at all, Wich is really nice when it's letting you know your about to dig up likely sharp metal; nails, tin cans etc. It's been great for helping me clean up my yard. Small gold pieces don't read well deeper than 6-8 inches(I tested out of curiosity) but I find copper a foot deep often.(found an extension to my gas lines 15 feet from the house one foot deep, glad I was cautious.)It's nice and light, easy to strap on any pack ( camping, Beach, river fishing) and it has a nice extension range fit for just about anyone. I use it from my hands and knees for cleaning old construction debris, but it also extends comfortably standing at my 6 foot frame.For the price this is a great tool or toy!Yeah I let the kids play with it!

School is almost over, and my son will be spending his summer at his grandparents, who have a large amount of property. He has a swing set and bike there, but I thought it would be fun to get him a metal detector to explore their property. This one is lightweight and a good price. When it arrived in the box, my son was excited and we assembled it fairly easily in 5 minutes.There are three knobs on this detector. One adjusts the volume, if you are not using earphones. The second one determines what all metals you want to pick up - either all metals (including scrap/junk metal) or valuable ones. Lastly, there is a sensitivity meter on it as well that also functions as an on/off knob. The handle is also adjustable in length, meaning it can accommodate my grade school son or my freaky, long arms. Overall, I'm very impressed with this metal detector and can't wait to see what all my son finds this summer!

Husband and I needed to locate his wedding ring lost by our pool. It is made of tungsten carbide with a finish that blended perfectly with our lawn debris. Then I saw this guy and decided to buy it. Well, I noticed the box was previously opened, and that there had been soil smeared upon the handle. This should have been sold through the warehouse.So anyway, being intelligent literate people we found the ring despite also being noobs. Since I would enjoy finding more rings just generally perhaps as a hobby I will keep this around, and not use it and lie about it like the last person did. I know how to rent things.

I bought this to find nails around our house left by contractors- especially in the driveway. After covering everywhere with a large magnetic pick-up, I used this. Boy does it work. I even found staples and old stuff several inches down. Simple to use, definitely good for 6" or more deep. The Pinpoint feature really helped find small items.If I had to throw it away today, the nails I found that probably would end up in my tire makes the cost well worth it.
