A true gadget that's a melon
Call me a gadget aficionado because I have a ton. I love to cook and bake and appreciate help. However, this item is not helpful nor does it really serve any purpose other than hogging up space in my drawer. It's been designated to a friends basket of beach toys (for his son.). Hopefully it will be more helpful there, than in my kitchen.

My watermelon came out in pieces not strips as advertised. I ended up using a knife to cut it into wedges than used the tool. I ended up throwing away a lot of melon. Maybe a little more practice would help. The product arrived as stated. Its probably the end user not the utensil.

Good idea--flawed design.
I was super excited when I ordered this--all my friends had been talking about wanting one. I usually got through 10 watermelons in the summer by myself, a couple more if my family decided to eat with me.It was difficult to understand how to use it at first. But, I got the general idea, or so I thought, after a couple pieces. I went to start the third piece and the thing BROKE--don't even halfway through the watermelon and it broke.I don't understand it.The melon ball is fine--I've used one growing up a lot. It does the job. My only concern is that there is no cover or anything for the corer, so if you're like me, sooner or later, when you're rushing, you're going to stab yourself in the wrist with the corer if you don't hold it properly.I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review which is based on my personal experience.

i recieved this item at a dicount which made it even better. this is the ideal melon slicer and it does cakes awesome. I gave it a 5 stars because it is a little tool that take up little space and it is fun to use. I want to thank the merchants for a fast and speedy delivery and they are so wonderful to work with
