SanusHama VMPL50 Tilting Wall Mount for 32-70 inch TV's - Black

I have a stud dead center where my tv will be hanging. How do I mount the bracket if the mounting plate is only 30 inches?

Do you need to purchase additional pieces

How strong are the side supports? I'm assuming they are welded on and not just part of the same piece of metal as the flat plate

Does it attach to metal studs, 24 inches apart ?
