I have two of these in my sump. My tank is 6x2x2 foot and prone to algae build up. Without these UV lights the whole tank turns green. When they’re on the water is completely clear. I’ve had one of them running 16 hrs a day for 18 months and it’s still going strong. The other I added recently to give it an extra boost. One should be ample for most tanks. DO NOT put in your tank with fish as it will kill them, sump use only. If you have no sump use an enclosed UV steriliser in your tank so the light doesn’t reach the fish.

We collect water from our local spring as we don’t want to drink tap water. Sometimes spring water can contain microbes and bacteria so 20 minutes of this light in each bottle kills any possible nasties that might be in there. So all we are left with a lovely pure water. Perfect!

Poor quality, stopped working within less than two months. Not great vfm!

Bought last November and no longer works. Not very good.Update.Seller has just been in contact and is happy to replace the UV lamp.Very pleased as a lot of sellers aren't bothered.Great to see and would buy from again.Thank you Sarah.

This product is amazing!!! My tank is a 90 litre marine tank and I’ve been suffering soooo bad with algae blooms for the last month. Did some research and figured I needed one of these, but all costed a lot of money. You couldn’t even see my fish or the back of my tank. So popped it in that night and by the morning the water was completely crystal clear!! Could not believe it. I really really recommend this, it’s been a saviour

Cleared foggy water quickly

After 18 months of no issues, my tank is suddenly full of what I believe to be algae bloom.Read that UV light is probably the best way to get rid of it so measured the height of the tank and bought the biggest size that would fit in upright.After around 4 days of this being on non stop, the cloud has lost the green colour and the water looked slightly better.Having read other reviews that people experienced crystal clear tanks after as many days I did start to become despondent that that was about as good as it was going to get as nothing else really seemed to happen for the next 7 days.I continued with my regular water change and tank clean and 2 weeks after installation I do now have crystal clear water and am very happy with the job it's done. I will leave it off now until I see any further deterioration but this has got me back to a nice clear tank where I can see my fish again.Did as it was supposed to, just have patience.

After a year, it was dead completely today. I think the product was okay initially but didn't last very long.
