small, but it works
It is a bit smaller than expected (look at dimensions not the picture) but I'm giving 4 rather than 5 stars because with first use nut at the bottom unscrewed and the plastic gear fell off. Also, like many others, the knob on the handle needed tightening right away as well. As for actual grinding all I can say is does grind wheat berries. As "Little House" fans know from reading "The Long Winter" the Ingalls ground "seed wheat" in a coffee grinder to make flour. Was afraid to adjust too finely as the directions pictured here say "do make more than 0.3mm gap.... the grinder will be stuck or broken when turning the most down without the gap." Grinder also looks great sitting by my great grandmother's spinning wheel and I will never again take for granted grocery store bread--or at least an already ground bag of flour!

Super Cute looks great with my coffee cart but not great at actually grinding coffee beans!!
Looks cute however it had no instructions and had to make several attempts to work out how to put it together. Looks amazing though but i have it as decor so it is a welcome addition to the shelf that holds my pods. Tt doesn't actually grind beans particularly well and havent tried it with spices as the beans didnt work!!

Good as decor not as a grinder
There's a crack on the wood part as you can see in the photo. Using it as a grinder is slow and wobbly, it's like calling a little boy to do a man's job. I just use it as decor so didn't want to go thru the troubles to return. If you are looking for a grinder to get the job done, find something real.

Worked for what I needed it for.
I live in Michigan where cannabis is legal. This grinder was purchased to grind course pot into more usable form. Works well for that. Got the ceramic base grinder because everything ground has to be contained. Once had wood grinder and it leaked a lot. Metal parts are a little lightly made but it does work. Seals tight when clamped. Fair price for product.

works great, well made
works great, well made, would be easier to hold while grinding with wider base bet not bad. DO NOT turn the crank without reading the instructions and I would advise backing off on the grind setting a few notches then advancing just one setting at a time to find the fine setting limit before use. Mine was too tight and that could cause damage. Overall grinds the beans very well. I'm pleased.

Cute
Very small. So if you're looking for something with usability on a larger scale, please look elsewhere. The design is simple and very cute. It will grind a small cup of coffee. I kept because I thought it would look cute as a knick knack on my coffee bar.

I use it twice a day.
It has no problem grinding the beans for the half gallon of coffee I drink every day. You might think I need to go to coffee rehab.... but since rehab is for quitters I will keep loving my coffee and vintage style coffee mill.

Terrible quality, breaks easily, and hard to use
I bought this thinking, "sure, it's cheap, but other reviews indicate it's okay so I'm sure it'll be grand."However, on first use, the output was too coarse, so I had to spend a lot of time figuring out the way to adjust it (instructions are on the box, and they are sparse). Second time, I managed to make myself a decent cup of coffee -- I use a moka coffee maker. However this required an awful amount of force: twisting the handle it wasn't a fun experience.Third time, yesterday, the grinding wheel just broke. I don't get it: if this device requires force, can you not make it more robust? Or, if it is supposed to produce fine grain coffee, can the grinder not be adjusted more easily?Bottom line: avoid buying it. Other than being pretty, it doesn't worth the hassle.

Nice toy that might also grind some coffee
It is a cute toy that might also grind some coffee too. Mine broke in one month. If you really want to have a manual coffee get something else.

useful manual grinder & a conversation piece as well
Simple and effective design. Works well if a little fiddly to clean at times. Can also be used as decorative piece.only instructions come on side if box in pictorial form & in Chinese? Hence one star dropped.

Fiddly to re-adjust
Good- ish for very light use. Broke within a month. HOWEVER this is probably one of the best of the bunch as far as hand held that looks retro are concerned. Top Tip - for gods sake unless you want a cool ornament BUY AN ELECTRIC.

Cute but not great quality
It can grind finely, you just have to adjust the cog. It doesn't come with instructions on how to do this but they are available here on the product info on Amazon. It looks cute, but isn't great quality. The drawer handle came off the first time I used it.
