It's good for you, so just drink it...
I drink the Jiaogulan Tea for the health benefits. This tea is a less rich green and the leaves aren't as uniform or as sorted as the other brand I've used and the taste differs slightly, but it's fine. If I sound less than enthusiastic it's because I'm just not a fan of the flavor but not everything I drink has to taste like it's a reward of some sort when I know it's good for me. I use less than the 1 to 2 teaspoons recommended by the Majestic Herbs website but I do steep the 10 minutes and more. I also reuse the leaves several times during the day. I usually dilute the steeped tea with more water after steeping just to make it more palatable as it does get rather strong and bitter when steeped for extended periods but Majestic Herbs recommends allowing the tea to steep for at least 10 minutes, up to 2 hours, to extract the maximum concentration of beneficial saponins. It has a natural sweetness that almost makes me think it's been infused with stevia - it's that sweet.

This is a great tea in and of itself
This is a great tea in and of itself. I like the bitterness, slight, on the third brew. This is one of the top Jiamgulan teas I have drunk. I had one label to whom I have shown perfect loyalty to a perfect tea. You leave me in a dilemma. The taste, leaf quality, aromatics, the true feeling of "good" whien it has been drunk. I often add a little spearmint tea and goji berries for an easy morning. But, this does not dismiss darjeeling or assam by any means at all. In fact at this moment I am drinking a mix with 1998 Puh'Er and To speak of being happier with a morning tea would be a lie. I am in total satisfaction with your excellent tea, Majestic Herbs. Honey on, here we go!

I first rated it one star because its advertised as "Organic Best Quality" but nowhere in the package does it say it is
The tea tastes great (like a light green tea), I love that it is actual leaves that are dried and once they're in the hot water, they unfold and you can see the actual leaves. I first rated it one star as Magestic Herbs advertise it as "Organic Best Quality Pure Loose Leaf" but in the package it does not mention that it's organic, nor does it have any organic seal.I changed my review to 5 stars after reading the reviews and Q&A, because it is true that you can pretty much taste organic vs non organic products in the flavour, and the taste of this one does seem supreme and better than other brands; also in the long description they explain why it's organic ("Pesticides are not needed since Gynostemma is naturally resistant to insects and other pests"), and how it is a fair-trade product grown by indigenous hill-tribe farmers in the pristine mountains of the Chiangmai province in northern Thailand... however I do prefer that the the packaging of the tea itself does say organic, not only the description used to sell the product, so I won't be buying this one again, and I will find another one that is organic certified.

Energizing Adaptogen with a Nasty Aftertaste
Jiaogulan is an amazing, energizing herb that smells pretty mild. However, the aftertaste is strong and makes me uncomfortable. At first, it tastes fine, but the immediate aftertaste is extremely, sickly bittersweet. It's like the aftertaste of fake sugar, but stronger, and with a strange bitterness. I really dislike it. I've tried blending it with various different herbs, including peppermint, holy basil, Jasmine, Cacao Nibs, etc., but that offensive aftertaste is simply too overpowering to ignore. However, this adaptogenic herb has many health benefits: it gives you strength, energy, and mental clarity. It helps you cope with stress, calming your anxieties and worries. It's a stimulating herb that really wakes you up and can be used as a less expensive replacement for ginseng.Jiaogulan is great for those struggling with chronic fatigue, limited motivation, attention span and focus, depression, trauma, and grief. Caffeine doesn't even come close to effectively healing and helping your whole mind and body the way energizing adaptogens can.Just one cup of this jiaogulan tea gives me immense energy and focus. So I'm going to keep trying to make this tea work. I believe the quality of it is very good, there is no question of that. I just need to be able to make it more palatable for myself and for those I help treat.Update: This tea simply has a terrible, unpalatable aftertaste, and that's just how it is. I can't do a whole lot about it and haven't been able to think of a solution except to grind it up and put it in capsules. This method is effective, but more time consuming.Update: I used my mortar and pestle to grind this jiaogulan leaf into mostly powder, and packed size 00 capsules with it. It worked out great, and offers great energy, vitality and longevity benefits. The quality of this herb is very good. I just personally prefer not to drink it to get the effects.
