Slow delivery :(
The book was in good condition as stated in the post. I needed this book for my son's reading class. He read the book and liked it very much. It just took a while to be delivered to me.(Like two weeks.) If you need this book in a hurry then pay extra for shipping to get it there faster. Overall I would buy it again.

Remember Me to Harold Square
Remember Me to Harold Square paula danzigerPart 1: Summary Remember Me to Herold Square was about a girl named Kendra. Kendra lived in New York City and was fifteen years of age. She had just finished school. Her famaily could not afford for her to go to a camp for the summer like the rest of her friends. She was planning on having a quiet and lonley summer until she found out what her parents were planning. They were planning to have a fifteen year old boy who works at a farm in Wisconsin stay with them till the end of the summer. His parents arranged with the New York City Government for him to come stay with a famaily from New York to see what city life was about. His name was Frank. It was hard for Kendra to adapt to having another person staying in their small apartment. Usually it was just Mom, Dad, Kendra, and Oscar, who was Kendra's little brother. One night at dinner, Kendra's parents announced how Kendra, Frank, and Oscar would spend their summer. Her Dad explained that they would be going on a scavenger hunt all around New York City as a team, and completing different tasks on a checklist. A parent would accompany them throughout their summer long journey. The reward for completing the scavenger hunt was a vacation to England to stay with their Aunt, who moved there. Some of the places on the checklist were The American Craft Museum, The Jewish Museum, The International House of Photograpghy, Ellis Island, The Whitney museum of American Art, The United Nations, and the Statue of Liberty. She visited the Lower East Side, Chinatown, Little Italy, Tribeca, and the Theatre District. They also had to choose from a list of different types of resteraunts for meals. They included Indian food, Mexican Food, Kosher deli, Chinese food, Italian food, and French food. After a few days, Kendra learned to like Frank and they quickly became boyfriend and girlfriend. Kendra found that you dont have to spend alot of money to have an amazing summer vacation. At the end of the story, Kendra, Oscar, and Frank completed all of the tasks and were of to England. Kendra was upset for the whole trip because when they returned home, Frank would have to return to Wisconsin. Frank promised to write Kendra every week. After a great vacation, they had to return home. Although Frank was leaving, she was happy to have spent her summer learning about all of the things in her City. I enjoyed reading this book because I have an interest in geography. I found it ineresting to read all about the geography of the city. If I had to choose a person from the book to go to dinner with, it would be Kendra. We would eat Mexican food. I would ask what she learned about New York City and about the places she visited. I would especially be curious to know about the United Nations, which the book explained to be out of United States bounderies. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys to read adventure books or anyone who has an interest

Another great teens' book by Danziger -- lots of fun!
Kendra is dreading a summer with her brother and with the son of her parents' friends. It's made worse because all Kendra's friends are out of town. The collective parents plan to make the summer more fun by organizing a scavenger hunt within New York City. The hitch is that it has to be done as a team. The prize is a trip for the whole team -- to England. Frank, who's never been to New York before, finds as much new stuff as do Kendra and her brother, "O.K."Paula Danziger had a knack with making learning interesting and fun. She draws colorful characters -- in this as well as in all her books -- with whom many kids can relate. They're not the most popular kids in school, but they're interesting and fun and the kind of kids with whom I wanted to be friends when i was in school. The interactions between teens of both genders, as well as between siblings of both genders, make for a delightful story, worth reading again and again.

The GREATEST Book Paula Danziger has to OFFER
The Book "Remember Me to Harold Square" is a great Novel. It is about a girl named Kendra Kaye who dreads about the decision that she has to stay with a boy name Frank (Her Parents Friend's Son) that she hardly knows and that she has to do some dumb Parents Scavenger Hunt in which she has to do with her pesty younger brother (O.K). This trip doesn't turn out so bad after all! Instead she starts to understand boys and even start to like them! Frank turns out to be a Great Guy who is everything she dreamed of!

Remember Me to Herold Square
Remember Me to Harold Square is about a high school boy from Wisconsin who spends six weeks one summer in New York City with friends of his parents, who have a high school daughter and a middle school son. The four parents have devised a six-week-long scavenger hunt for the kids to help them experience the best of the city and stay busy for the entire visit. This book generated lots of great discussion in our Mother Daughter Book Club. We talked about whether it's an advantage for girls to be friends with boys before they start to date them and the difficulties of getting seriously romantically involved with someone when you're still young. None of the daughters are dating yet, or even plan to, (they're 12 so it was a good way to talk about dating issues theoretically. We were also inspired to create our own summer scavenger hunt, and the girls loved it. They had to visit museums, eat new food, go the park and discover places around the corner they never knew about. It was a great way for them to stay in touch over the summer, and the parents were able to share the shuttling from place to place. It was lots of fun!

Not a hard read but a fun, short novel
I had read this as an 11 year old and whilst speaking to my avid reader child, we were chatting about different authors and I remembered Paula Danziger so thought I'd get one of her books to see how it had aged. The book was thinner than I remember but still enjoyable. It had not been a new release when I originally read it but had felt quite fresh and did so again despite the lack of technological advances that we are used to now. The story is quirky and fun, not hard work for a young teen who enjoys reading, someone wanting to revisit their previous reading or perhaps to encourage your child if you want them to read a book without feeling too daunted by the size. It is basically about parents who set up a scavenger hunt for their own 2 kids and a teen guest staying at their home in Manhattan. There are rules to the hunt and it is designed for them to fill their holiday and experience a lot of fun whether it's new food or art, bonding with each other and achieving goals. It is a fun read, not challenging and has aged quite well. Was fun to reminisce although some of the other books look very overpriced in my opinion, this one was worth it.
