Used for backpacking, works great.
Bought these for deep-winter backpacking where we need a fire at night (and are allowed one) in the Ozarks and Ouachitas. It works well, the double-action is great and it's very efficient when sawing through logs up to arm-thick (I haven't gone any thicker than that). I used it for clearing part of the OHT after a winter storm and it performed as well as could be expected. Fairly light, worth the weight, and love the folding action to keep it from snagging on anything in the pack. Well worth the purchase.

Tremendous Value laplander replacement for bushcraft
Seems the same performance as my laplander. I bought 2 of these as backups, and use for bushcraft wood processing tasks. I think I'll get about 5 more just to have in all vehicles and other packs. Great little saws!!

It's a Bahco!
It's a Bahco! I purchased this Bahco because it was slightly discounted do to its orage color variation and I couldn't pass up on it. Why purchase another Bahco? It's reliability, performance and price point. You know it performs. It's a proven and tested tool that just won't fail you. Not only do I recommend it. I will be buying yet another for my camping kitchen just to have it. As a handyman who performs some lanscaping/yard work it never leaves my tool bag, bug out bag or camping kitchen. The new one is on the way!

Lighter than Gomboy, Brighter than Laplander!
Many previous reviews cited this saw as identical to the Bahco Laplander, the only differences being the handle color, blade coating, and lack of a leather lanyard. I hope that's actually the case, given how many survival and bushcraft school instructors seem to promote the Laplander over everything else for a primary compact pack saw.It doesn't matter to me that this Expert model isn't available in the Laplander's olive drab color scheme; in fact, the Expert's orange handle is a bonus selling point. Personally, I dislike "tactical" or earth tone colors for camping/hiking tools, because I'm much less likely to lose sight of a Hunter Safety Orange tool if I set it down in camp or on the trail. And, I could care less about a piece of brown leather thong being included or not, as I would likely have replaced it with the same orange paracord that I'll put on this Expert model. This Expert saw is much lighter than my Silky Gomboy, so if it survives some test use, it'll have a place in my multiday hiking pack when I don't have plans that would dictate bringing a saw but the remote possibility still exists of needing one in unforeseen circumstances.I prefer the wider kerf, longer curved blade, and more solid feel of the Silky so far, but this Bahco Expert cost me less than half the price of even just a single replacement blade for the Silky! The only question I have about quality derives from the fact that the blade can be wobbled up and down about 3 degrees along its radial path of rotation around the pivot screw, in the fully opened and locked position. However, it doesn't have any play in it from side to side at all, which would have been the deal breaker. If it does loosen, the Expert's blade pivot screw and locknut can be tightened with a #2 Phillips screwdriver. Also, I realize that some bushcrafting techniques for building camp enhancements from wood are better handled with a straight kerf versus curved, although the curved kerf is easier to keep in contact when bucking limbs and small logs. (For instance, cutting slots to interlock 2-3" pieces for 90 degree joints will result in tighter joints if the slots are straight at the bottom.)Therefore, if this one holds up as well as the Bushcraft YouTubers seem to want me to believe it will, it'll be a great addition to my catalog of on-hand gear options. Even if I never take it out on the trail, I'm still glad to have had a chance to try a similar Bahco for less than half the cost of their Laplander!

Nice camping saw
Seems like a well built all around choice for a camping saw.

Inexpensive Quality
I’m a backcountry guide in Alaska. I require something lightweight that will work when I need it most. This is not a saw I would want to use for processing any quantity of firewood for a camp…however, it has worked well for trail maintenance and freeing up snowmachines that get snagged on saplings and such. I’ve cut up to 8” green trees with some effort. This saw gets the job done and is lightweight. I appreciate the orange color, which makes it easier to find when it gets dropped in the snow. I will be purchasing additional saws for different guiding kits and for my dogsled.

Orange 🍊
Same saw just cheaper cuz it’s orange. lol 😂 great buy 👍🏻 I forget what the replacement blade is called but you can get a cut on the pull only saw blade if that’s your thing. I like the orange 🍊 and green I have both. The orange was cheaper. Same blade.

Still favor Bahco over other brands
I've had and used a Laplander for years, along with my Silky Gomboy and Pocketboy, grabbed this when the price dropped, other than color I cannot discern the difference between this model and the Laplander. The Silkys cuts more efficiently than either Bahco, but they are not as rugged, or pocket friendly IMO.

Portable e insaciable
Excelente producto de Bahco. Muy buena hoja de sierra, muy buen grip o agarre. Equilibrio entre tamaño y peso. No encuentro nada qué mejorar en el producto. Aunque sí podría ser interesante, incluir una hoja de repuesto...

A useful tool in the garden, fast and easy to use
Although not a professional or even a keen gardener, I have in the past needed to prune some larger plants and to trim some tree branches, roots etc and bought a pruning saw for the purpose where pruning shears would not work. It was borrowed by a friend some time ago as he was impressed with its performance when I used it to remove some annoying lower branches from a tree and he wanted to try it for himself with some offending hedges of privet and other bushes before buying one of his own. So far he has not returned it and I had to purchase another as a replacement or fill-in.The original item was of a different brand and styling and with a fixed blade, although this is clearly not. The handle employs a locking mechanism that engages when closed and when open. The blade is easily opened once disengaged. The mechanism is easy to operate, and reasonably child-safe, and should therefore be safe when in use or not. The orange handle is large enough and sufficiently bright to stand out in accidentally dropped onto soil or grass or left in among greenery. There is a small hole at the extreme end either for a hook or for a loop of string or leather to be threaded through for hanging. The 19cm (7.5 inch) blade is long enough to cut branches of around half its length, and perhaps a little more, but a bigger saw would be needed for anything larger. It is certainly effective within its working range. The blade is fairly stiff but does have a small amount of flexibility. The teeth are straight (in line with the blade) and appear to be sharpened on both forward and rear edges and it therefore cuts in both directions. There is no clear marking on the packaging or on the blade itself to confirm this action. However, it is normally considered safer and preferable to have a pruning saw cut only on the pull stroke although this saw should in theory be slightly quicker. Used initially to remove a stump of something that has so far defied recent efforts to dig it out (the ground is too hard and dry), it cut through it cleanly and quickly and without tearing. Replacement blades are available if needed and will require some tools, primarily a large Philips screwdriver.Although not inexpensive, I preferred to pay a little extra in order to avoid the cheap and nasty equivalents available for around 1/3 of its price and which will probably need to be replaced after a couple of uses.
