Disappointed
Decided to get these after reading a bunch of great reviews ,but was lightly disappointed. Absorbency is okay ,though these are super plus and I have a rather light flow but still need to change roughly every 3 hours.I got used to inserting them without the applicator ,but I feel they move and never stay straight when inserted. The shedding is also an issue for me. Picture below is after just taking the tampon out of plastic packaging. Not impressed.

Good but non organic are fine too
I tried super and super plus variants of these organic cotton tampons, which are being aimed at eco-conscious menstruators. You hear a lot about menstrual cups nowadays, but not everyone can use them, for whatever reason. These are a good alternative, and much more eco friendly than applicator tampons, or pads. There is a tiny bit of plastic on the wrappers, but other than that it's totally biodegradable.I have used Lil-lets ever since I first started my period. Sometimes I buy cheaper options in a pinch, but Lil-lets have a nice smooth coating and are well made- the tampons are tightly woven and don't shed any fibres. So they are better than cheaper own-brand tampons. The other little innovation (in normal Lil-lets) is the twist-to-open wrapper, which I find easier than trying to pull a fiddly little tab and being left with that tiny strip of plastic. These organic tampons have changed the wrapper design and gone back to the little pull tab. I asked Lil-lets customer service and they told me that due to the way the organic ones were made, they had to do away with the twist to open wrapper as it wasn't secure enough. Also, as I mentioned I ordered two different sizes but they both came with the same gold colour on the strip, which surprised me. OK the plus are visibly thicker than the super, but normally Lil-lets have a different colour to make them easier to identify. These two changes are very slightly inconvenient. There's a little note inside the box to point out that their non-organic tampons are just as safe and don't contain any nasties, which is a fair point I think. They don't want the fact that their organic option exists to have the effect of making the non organic option seem unsafe. Personally I am happy using either kind, and will probably stick with the cheaper and more convenient non-organic ones.

Honest price, compact, organic and vegan!
Disclaimer: as part of the Amazon Vine Voices, I received this product for free to test it and review it, however, this is my honest opinion about it.I have been using the menstrual cup for over three years now, but sometimes, I also use tampons if I am going to places where I am not sure I will be able to wash it properly. So I use organic cotton tampons whenever this happens. This product comes in a compact cardboard box, with its presentation right on the front: those are non-applicator tampons (less waste to me), dermatologically tested, 100% organic cotton, no fragrance, dyes or chlorine bleach and are a vegan product.Plus, I went to check on their website and the absorbent core and string are totally plastic-free.The box can be closed making it easy to carry them inside it, and each tampon comes sealed individually. There are 16 tampons inside each box, and this one is the super plus kind, for my "heavy days".I checked and they have also pads, biodegradable, so I might go and buy myself a box of those as well.I haven't tried them yet but I am looking forward to it, as to the touch, they do feel comfortable, and they absorbed a decent quantity of water when I tested one of them with it.

higher price versus being more environmentally friendly
We received these Organic Super Plus Tampons as part of the Amazon Vine review program. We were keen to try these because of the environmental impact plastics and other materials can have. Here are our thoughts:-• These were comparable to our normal brand• Suitable for Vegans – we didn’t have the outer packaging of current brand to know if they are also Vegan friendly so we can’t make a direct comparison.• OEKO-TEX certification – this is important given how tampons are used and this represents independent testing and certification of levels of potentially harmful chemicals in textiles. This is the first time we have noticed this and its something we will consciously look out for in the future.• Environmental Impact: 100% certified pure Organic cotton with no fragrance, dyes or chlorine bleach. This is a big plus as is no fossil fuel plastics. We would consider trying this again but they are more expensive than our usual brand. There is a clear trade-off between reducing your environmental footprint and price. The hope is that environmental benefits become the new normal for manufacturers then price will come down.

Trustworthy brand
With three ladies in the house, these are a constant purchase and continue the quality of the product brand, considering the potential issues of cheaper brands, Lil-Lets have been around for many, many years and have been trusted. We're all trying to help save the planet and as tampons are pretty much a necessity, it seems only right that the makers should do their part, too.My wife has given these Super Plus tampons her approval after using several different sizes in the range, she says they are comfortable (as comfortable as they can be, at least) and work well for the flow type advertised. The non-applicator method is a still a little more difficult than having an applicator but not by much and it's worth the effort to help save the planet. She finds the idea of the different colours strings for different flow types really good and commends Ll-Lets on the idea.
