Outstanding Replacement for Silhouette Stencil Material (for glass etching)
I do a lot of glass etching - whole cases of bottles per week - and I go through a lot of stencil material. I have tried using different products to solve the supply issues and price challenges I keep running into with Silhouette clear stencil material. I have tried Cricut's version (major fail), contact paper, etc. I was skeptical about this one. But it not only does the job, it actually outperformed the Silhouette brand for me. There are lots of phases of glass etching, so I'll go step by step in comparison to the Silhouette clear version (usually packaged with transfer tape). This material lays nice and flat off the roll instead of curling wickedly the way the Silhouette one does off the roll. It’s also 12 inches wide vs. Sil’s 9 inches. It cuts just fine in the machine and peels off easily from the mat. I didn’t think I would like the blue color, but it makes it so much easier to weed the stencil because I can see what’s peeling and what’s not. Unlike Sil’s, the tiny parts I don’t want weeded stick rather firmly and stay put. Weeding was probably at least 100% faster with this material.Because the stickiness is so good, I need to use my scraper to scrape flat the transfer tape on the stencil, else it won’t stay on the transfer tape and tries to stay stuck to the backing. The backing is pretty rigid and thick but comes off easily once your transfer tape is secured properly. I did have to be a little more careful peeling off the backing because the stencil part wants to stay stuck to it. So that was maybe 50% slower.Again, I was worried with the blue stencil I would have trouble seeing through it enough to line it up on the bottle, but it was fine. My bottles are not nice flat cylinders – they are oddly shaped and have three dimensional curves at all the edges. I usually must press the stencil on as best as possible and use a heat gun to melt it slightly around the curves to get it to shape properly. I have no idea what this blue stencil is made of, but it “clings” easily to the shape without needing heat! I only had to use my finger to press a little around the curves and it molded into it and stayed put. It’s a little softer than Sil’s version. Game changer! Not only a time-saver, but significantly lowers the risk of acid leakage behind the stencil. 50% faster.Applying the etching cream went fine, and I had a lot less concern about the stencil moving under the scraper when cleaning off the excess etching cream before rinsing. It stayed stuck to the bottle during the rinse and came off without a problem when peeling the remainder. In fact, the blue color made it easier to make sure I didn’t leave any pieces. Extra bonus points – I didn’t get stabbed under the fingernail with sharp little pieces when peeling it off. If you do a lot of this, you know what I mean. Not only is this a good replacement for the very-hard-to-find Silhouette version, but I can say I significantly prefer this version. I etched 12 bottles last night and it performed well the whole time. It is also significantly more cost effective. My new best friend!

Terrible
I bought a few rolls of this vinyl after I saw how well it cut on my machine. Islands didn't get displaced, and cuts were very clean even on fine detail. Unfortunately that's where anything good about this vinyl ends. What causes it to cut so well is that the adhesive is WAY too strong. I work with various vinyl and the adhesive on this is stronger than some permanent vinyl. This causes the vinyl to not release properly from its backing when peeling it off with transfer tape. It sticks to the backing rather than release with the transfer tape. This makes it incredibly time consuming to just remove the backing, and pretty much impossible with more complicated designs. If you are able to get the vinyl down, when peeling it off your substrate, the adhesive is so strong that some of it will separate from the vinyl and stay on your work piece. The gunk that is left behind will have to stay unless you can risk rubbing the area with a solvent that would strip the paint immediately around it.Unfortunately I wasn't smart and did days of labor prepping, cutting, and weeding designs with this vinyl just to discover the problem with the very first stencil I started to work with. I tested multiple cuts from various rolls I had, and all suffered from the same problem.

Awesome stencil but too sticky
This stuff is amazing. I love love love this stencil material BUT it is way too sticky. I have been using 651, 631 & 813 for 3 years but the 813 is garbage it bends up and is never flat, the 651 peels my wood and the 631 is not too bad. I tried this because I love stencil film better and had to see if there was something better out there than orcal or vivid. This would definitely get a 5 star if they would reduce that stickiness just a tad. As you see in the pictures it peeled off my paint and left the sticky glue on the board.

Freaking Awesome!
I am having so much fun with this stuff! I do not find it too thin. Easy to get off cricut mat if you do it correctly by peeling the mat not the stencil.Super sticky to adhere which is great! I used it on waxed wood squares with zero bleed! Use the included scraper to adhere to mat and whatever ur painting, any minimal bubbles from not getting on straight disappear. Seriously for this price and the amount you must try! I know there are some bad reviews but I am seriously loving it! I’m on a painting kick :)

Great for projects that need good adhesion
It sticks to nearly any surface and the paint will not bleed when used as a stencil.... However, it peels up the backing of whatever you have it put on. For example, I tried to use it on stained wood, painted wood, and particleboard and it peeled up each. HOWEVER, it works great on things where peeling up the backing is not a problem :)

Do not buy if you want all your paint to lift.
Thought I would take a chance and look for a different stencil vinyl, bad idea. This product has been lifting ALL my paint, even when the paint has been cured and left to dry for over a week, it still leaves adhesive residue AND lifts the paint below it. In the photo you can tell EXACTLY where the stencil was. I have never had issues this bad with any other product. It is extremely time consuming to fix all the issues that this product has caused, don't waste your money.

This stuff is garbage
I must have had a bad batch or something. Creates a nice clean sharp paint line but rips up the wood and pulls up the paint. First time i used it worked great on unpainted surface and gave it a great review. Garbage on painted surface. Emailed company directly and they forwarded it to company in china. Spent hours weeding to make projects and hour repairing the damage this product caused. I will just stick to my normal vinyl ive used for years.

Works great.
I used this product on a outdoor mat. The stencil was easy to get away from the transfer paper as well as stuck perfectly to the rough mat material. No bleed through when paint was applied and came off with ease.
