Love My Buck's Knife Choices
As you review my reviews on Buck Knives, you may wonder why I like them so much over so many other worthy knives. First off, I've bee a meat cutter, specialist, whatever for 48 years, and I've used a few knives in my day. I guess the #1 reason I like Buck's so much is that they use a type of steel that I can teach others to sharpen without ruining the knife itself. I use only flat stone sets, and I rarely use belts and electric grinding systems. Not that I can't, I just think it's easier to acquire the sharpness you need from a stone, and most steel's are made for most people to sharpen if they are taught the correct method from the beginning. Buck knives have such great workmanship that it's hard to pass up for the price they ask for them and they will do the same work as the $300/up knives will do. And trust me, some of those higher priced knives have no better steel than the lower end has. I love Buck's look, the different styles, the different uses, and the fact that they are collectable, so you can buy more than one.

great quality knife
This blade is quality and beauty all in one. I was a little surprised when I received this knife in the mail, only because the blade itself is not very deep, it seems more like a fillet knife. I actually really came to like the design of the knife, it is just the right size. I bought this knife for hunting, and when I took it out of the box, my buddy did the arm hair test, and he shaved his arm really easily with this knife. It cuts extremely easily, and is very sharp. The color of the would and brass together, just makes for an extraordinary looking knife. The sheath is made of quality leather, and it has a very nice rich color to it. The snap for the sheath is set far back, so it is right next to where it attaches to your belt, and its easy to open and get the knife out, but the placement is in a great place, so that it doesn't open on its own while moving through the bushes. I would highly reccomend this buck knife to any friend.

True buck knife
Holds edge through entire deer, feels great in hand. Sharpens easily on oil stone. Like a straight razor. The steel is almost as good as it once was. Would recommend if you ever liked a older buck knife.

Buck Personal
My dad carried this knife for years and years. He kept it razor sharp all the time. I think he sharpened it so much that the blade was about a half an inch shorter than it started :)A few years ago we were in Western Oklahoma hunting and he lost it. The leather sheath broke at the belt loop while he was walking through the woods. We replaced it with the 119, but he just doesn't like it as much. So I got this for him for father's day. I'm kind of surprised it's on here. I thought Buck all but quit making the Personal... Never could find it. Thanks Amazon!BTW, you won't regret owning a Buck knife. I own several and so does my dad. MADE IN USA. Perfect gift for the outdoorsman.

HIgh quality.
Actually, this was for a Grandson, I have used a 118 Personal Buck knife for over 50 years. I found it to be the perfect size to field dress and cut up deer and even small game. Some very experienced outdoors men recommended this knife so I bought one for myself, guess around 1961 or so. And I just recently bought one for another Grandson. Also got one for my son years ago when he started hunting with me. Great knife, perfect size. Really holds an edge.

Well designed knife.
Another great gift. I ordered the wrong knife. But hubby really likes it. Very nice size and blade is very well designed. The buck he thought he’d lost was a bit larger. Now he has 2 and is very pleased with the size & shape of this new one.

Dang...This is a Good Piece of Gear!
Used Buck knives for the last 50 years. Ordered this for a friend, had never seen or held this model before.I hate to exaggerate, but this just may be the perfect hunting knife. I always used a 102 due to the easy way it handles. This knife feels better than the 102 and the longer slightly upswept blade are spot on. It has the perfect weight/balance/angle.Just ordered another for myself...though I won't part with my 102, this one will be with me.

best knife I ever owned
I had one of these knifes for 25 years I used it on deer , bear, and elk, I completely skinned and boned said game with this knife. It holds a good edge and a few strokes on a fine grit or medium steel will bring back the edge in short order. I lost the one I had a few years ago, and I am lost with out it in the woods. I have tried several other knifes, but they don't measure up to this one, all per-puss knife. So I am buying a new one and it will be on my belt come fall.

These are very good looking knives
I bought this knife because I have the smaller brother to it (102 brs I believe) but the latter was just a bit small for my hand. I used it on 2 cow elk and 2 bull elk before I had to sharpen it which was a huge shock that the knife was of that quality. These are very good looking knives, I have had custom knives made and these ones truly are workhorses. I would tell everyone that is looking for one to invest in it because they are actually worth it. The 118 personal is the perfect size, fit and angle for skinning, field dressing and it has a really nice look to it that my hunting partners are jealous of. Buy this knife and you will be happy!!!!!
