FGN Beach mat , Portable Pocket tarp , Picnic Blanket, Water proof outdoor mat (59”82” )

This is not ideal for the beach or any windy, outdoor activity due to the tarp being very lightweight. Sure, there are holes at the corners that would allow for securing it to the ground but that doesn't work so well in sand and is kind of a pain to set up. Also, the plastic on the tarp gets quite hot with sun exposure. I only use this when my building has run out of extra beach chairs and my regular beach blanket is too filthy to use.

This tarp (I would say it is more of a tarp than a blanket) is great for picnics, concerts, the beach, and for taking out to the pond to sit and relax while my husband fishes. The material is polyester which makes it mostly waterproof. I took a photo of some water I poured on the surface (shown below). Most of the water beads up comes off with a shake of the trap; however, a tiny bit did soak into the material. The tarp is quite large - a few inches shy of 5'×7' and both my husband and I can fit on it and we are not necessarily small people. It comes with a little drawstring bag which is great for storage and carrying. I like how small it folds down so it does not take up a lot of room in my bag. It is also extremely lightweight which is both a pro and a con. It is a pro for the obvious reason - it is not heavy to carry around. The con is that it flaps around like a flag on a windy day...which brings us to our next pro/con. There are holes in each of the four corners where stakes or ties and be inserted to hold it down, but it did not come with any stakes. Four Allen wrench-style stakes would have been really cheap and easy to toss into the bag with the tarp, so that is my one suggestion for the company and why I cannot leave 5 stars. The material of the tarp makes it easy to shake off dirt and sand, and it can even be tossed into the washing machine for easy cleaning. When I saw this item, my first thought was that it would be great to use when we go to the river or to outdoor concerts. Once unfolded, it is BIG, which is great when you want something bigger than a towel and lighter than a thick plastic tarp. I added a picture of it completely unfolded over our recliner to give an idea of size. I probably wouldn't use it in an area where it's muddy, because it is a thinner material than the typical heavy-duty tarp. I haven't tried washing it yet, but I think it would be easy to rinse it in the tub or a bucket and hanging it to dry. I like that it has a carrying pouch, and it was easy to fold back up and put back in the bag (this was the first thing I tried after unfurling it, because I can't stand when it's difficult to get an item back into its carrying bag). This is perfect to keep in your car or bag just in case you need to sit somewhere or want to put food down for a picnic (or even as a table cloth). My husband will probably take it with him camping, too, because it is so lightweight.

This is a step up from the standard blue tarp. It is thinner and folds more easily, and stuffed into this carrying bag it is ludicrously easy to carry around to your picnic wonder spot. It acts exactly as you would imagine; it is standard tarp material, so water beads up and runs off of it, and it heats up in the sun. You can clean it off by taking it home and spraying it off with the hose, and all is good.It has grommets for staking down, but no stakes are included. It would be nice if there was some sort of design on it, or pattern other than the standard blue tarp, but hey, it is what it is. It keeps butts dry during picnics, and what else do you need?Received for review

This is a great buy! I have triplets and a 13 yr old. They are always doing something. We went to the beach the other day and it does have four corn holes to secured to the ground. I just wrapped there cloths in it so I would not get my car wet. It is easy to clean and fold away. We also went to the park and I can say I love it. No more grass stains on clothes, no ants or bugs getting into our food are toys. Love the blue color. It is light weight and small when folded. When we go camping I can put it on the ground for my tent or put it on top like a tarp.

I dipped the blanket in the pool to "test" it out and it does get wet but not as expected, I laid it out and it dries immediately! The top side does not absorb the water and does not get too hot in the sun. Perfect for the beach!!! The sand will literally blow right over! It doesn't absorb the sand and debris like other materials. This is exactly what I needed, I will be ordering another for sure to use in Galveston this summer.
