Bronze is too heavy. Aluminum is overpriced
It's a beautiful mechanical pencil. It doesn't slide either. But at 2 ounces, this bronze mechanical pencil is just to heavy. Perhaps it's due to my small hands, but writing with this thing exhausts my grip and my fingers. It's heavier than my Cross Tech 3, which weighs 1.1 ounces. And heavier than my Metaphys Locus 43040, which is stainless steel and weighs 1.12 ounces. I don't know why he would make it out of bronze, a highly dense practical metal. It has a higher density than most stainless steel metals. So I think I'll wait around for the stainless steel one or the copper one, if they ever get released. He said that they would be released by the end of Spring, a few months ago. Maybe there is a delay. Now I returned the brass one and got the aluminum. As a mechanical pencil collector, I'm inclined to keep it, but as a consumer I realize that I've just paid $70 dollars for an aluminum mechanical pencil, which is unsettling since aluminum goes for $0.79 per pound on the market; moreover, it doesn't feel as though much effort went into making this thing. When I was loading the lead, I accidentally turned it over to take out the lead that was currently in there(a lighter colored lead than I currently use) and a light dainty spring fell out. It still works with out it, which makes me wonder why it was in there to begin with. It does have well balance though. However, because it is so light, it makes you want to grip it harder. I would pay $40 for this aluminum mechanical pencils. But at $70? C'mon....

Buy it. You will not be disappointed!
I was skeptical about this pencil after reading the reviews and wondered if it could meet up to my expectations. I love pens and pencils and I am very picky about what I feel is a good writing instrument. From the moment I took this out of the packaging I have been absolutely amazed. I was hoping to be impressed and it exceeded my expectations. It has the weight, look and feel of what the ancient god's wrote with. It is truly a piece of art. I purchased the brass pencil version and I am thinking about getting a different one as well. You will not be disappointed if you like pens and pencils. Yes it is $75. If you don't like it or want to spend the money, then don't. You will be happy if you do.
