Poultry require this mineral for firm egg shells. Seems like a decent size for the money.

Ordered this oyster shell alt because our girls were laying some soft shells. We'd tried another brand before, but the bag was so small that we went through it in just a couple weeks. I was happy to find the 50lb bag available through MileFour--hopefully it lasts quite awhile. It's too soon to know if it's making a difference in the shells, but the ladies seem to like it!

One of my chickens was laying really thin shelled eggs and they were cracking and breaking. So I did some research and found out it was a calcium shortage. So I bought this and added it into their food and sprinkled some on the ground here and there. They didn’t seem to eat it like crazy (like mealworms) but it did help and I haven’t had a thin shell egg since! So definitely worth it. You don’t need to add a lot either so the bag lasts a long time.

My hens love these! And I am amazed how more durable their eggs are!

New to the chicken business. This product is a great option for my hens to lay nice firm eggs. Fast delivery and happy with the product.

Just received this order today and when I opened box, the oyster shell bag was open and pieces scattered in box. Not impressed with how his packaging holds up yet. Plus I can’t return or have it replaced! I’ll order once more when I need to, but if it happens again, I won’t be buying this brand again. I liked the fact I can feed the chickens with a better brand product though.
