Saved Money fixing HVAC Heat pump
I called a local HVAC shop to service my heat pump (fan quit running) on a Thursday and they were going to charge me $195 to diagnose and then $195/hr + cost of parts. Luckily they couldn't make it by until Monday, I watched a couple youtube videos and diagnosed the capacitor was bad ( it did have some burned contacts which were easy to spot). Less than $20 dollars on Amazon for a new Capacitor and it arrived at my house the next day. Took all of 15 minutes to pull the sheet metal off the heat pump and replace. Once I turned the power back on at the breaker, everything kicked on like new. Been over a month now and I'm very happy I was able to save some $$$ and get our house cooled down the next day! Thank you!

Its not very big around...
...but at least it is short. lolIt has my HVAC cooling again and that is what is important.THIS is a (at least mine is) a 2" diameter capacitor where my original TRANE p/n CPT00656 capacitor was a 2 1/2" diameter... Does it really matter? well, kinda as I had to spend an addition 15 minutes maybe 20 because I had to go get a drill from the truck, find an appropriate drill bit, and modify the holding bracket.... not what I paid an extra $7 for when I could have had a 2.5" for $10.... I was expecting a CPC00656 [plug and play] and I got something that needed just a slight bit of extra effortWhat is going to be really important though is, will this component last or will it need an another replacement someday when it least convenient.?

High quality, Value Priced Capcitior--Don't hesitate to Purchase!
My neighbor Aaron, replaced the fan motor on his Trane Outdoor Compressor. This was not the problem--and was an expensive mistake. It turned out to be the capacitor! I had just ordered one from Amazon. I gave him mine--since all 32 Condo's here have the same Trane Model! We installed it--according to instructions. This model listed above, started the compressor right up and has been running flawlessly ever since. Aaron ordered the same replacement for me. He was very thankful for the 'loan!' I had told him,(From my video viewing on YouTube,) that he should replace the Capacitor first--before paying out about $189.00 for the fan motor! Fortunately, the landlord re-reimbursed Aaron for both--via rent deduction.

Poor quality, no warranty
Bought this in Aug 2020, already failed, not even a year. No warranty, just poor quality. Sellers response: “We apologize, but we offer no warranties with any of our products. The manufacturer will honor warranties only when parts are installed by a Licensed HVAC or Appliance Technician employed by a reputable HVAC or Appliance Contractor. Great pricing is one of the advantages of online purchasing, that’s most likely why you’re here. The same parts purchased through a HVAC or Appliance Contractor cost as much as three or four times what you can find online. Those higher HVAC and Appliance Contractor part prices have the warranties built into them. When you purchase the part online for a fraction of the cost and when a qualified HVAC or Appliance Tech is not installing the part then the warranty options are simply not available.”Funny this isn’t the same response for a car battery or brakes. It’s more about the quality that’s behind the product. Must know these are garbage. Avoid this seller and brand…

Keep a spare for the AC unit
Although it gets delivered within a day or two, it is best to keep one of these as a spare for your AC in case the capacitor fails. Capacitor value is right on target, and the price is good. I think they tend to fail in the heat, and that is usually when you need your AC to be running. Just make sure it is the same size/capacitor value as what your AC unit requires, and that you take all the safety precautions before changing it out (shutting down the power, making sure the connections are the same) - if not comfortable, please call an AC repair company - you'll still save some money having your own cap versus the one they provide.
