Product description Hi there, how are you doing? I’m Boxed Off’s Magnesium supplement. I’ve been designed using natural 100% vegan ingredients. I heard you’ve been feeling a bit stressed out lately, and maybe even a little anxious. Don’t worry, that’s what I’m here for – to help you feel more relaxed. Before you head to a spa, give me a try. I’m a natural way to boost your magnesium intake, which can help reduce fatigue as well as supporting bones, muscle and your nervous system. I’m a treat for your teeth too - they all love a bit of me! Here’s the science bit: Magnesium is a mineral that is important for normal bone structure in the body, as well as aiding in relaxing the muscles. People who have deficiency in the supplement can result in restlessness and lack of quality sleep. I’m great for vegans, (or vegan-ish), flexitarians and veggies. Also meat-eaters like me too. No nasties here – just mag-nificent magnesium to help you maintain a healthy diet. Love me, love Boxed Off. Each bio-degradable pack contains a 30 day supply of tablets. Nutritional Information: Each tablet provides on average 300mg of Magnesium, which is 80% of the Reference Intake. Ingredients: Magnesium Oxide, Bulking Agents: (Microcrystalline Cellulose, Maltodextrin), Modified Maize Starch, Anti-caking Agent: (Magnesium Stearate). About Boxed Off: Our plan was always to simplify the complicated world of nutrition and supplements. We’ve taken our time to ensure we source only the highest quality ingredients to produce hard working products that are packaged in an environmentally responsible way. All of our products are vegan-friendly but not vegan exclusive, everyone can reap the benefits. Might not be high enough dose
WE have scored this down to 3 stars for two reasons:-Firstly - these are expensive and we have no way to determine if these are better than cheaper alternatives.Secondly - these are only 300mg tablets and we found various US medical sites suggesting that for some ages and genders this is below the daily amount. This might be an unfair given our lack of medical/biological expertise but we found double this strength tablets available. We do, however, like the tamper evident pouches. You have to rip off the top so its very tamper evident! The seal is good and these can be resealed once opened with an easy to use press seal. Some people are going to prefer bottles but we do like these biodegradable pouches. Not short dated - plenty of time left on the best before clock.Easy to swallow and no unpleasant after-taste.Issues are just cost and dosage strength.

Helping my cramps.
I tend to be low in magnesium, I haven’t had my bloods checked in over a year, but I was getting very tired, stressed and was getting horrible cramps in my calves and weirdly in my big toes. I have taken magnesium in the past with good results, so I was happy to give these a try. These are a lower dose than I had taken previously too much can be as bad as too little so that may be a good thing. I like the packaging, there is way too much plastic waste so nice that this is eco-friendly. For a nice change these are in tablet form, I always wonder at how thick some capsule shells are. After taking for around a week I find my cramps haven’t been nearly as bad which is a huge relief, I hope that I shall feel less fatigued soon as I know my levels are increasing due to the cramps receding.Only thing I would change is the price as I find it a little expensive for one month’s supply.

Useful supplement
Whilst I try to have a balanced diet I have found I usually realise that I need more magnesium when I get ‘restless legs’. These tablets are a bit large and might not suit everyone. They say they form ‘80% of the reference intake’ but the 300g seems to be the suggested amount in various articles. Too much and it can have a laxative effect! It is worth doing a bit of research as there are suggestions female hormonal changes can benefit from magnesium supplementation. Also that magnesium deficiency is a widely unrecognised one. I like the biodegradable packaging, that they are vegan (even though I am not) ‘simple’ branding and it is obvious if they have been ‘tampered’ with. These seem to be a ‘middle’ priced with a lot to recommend them.

Helped with my swimming cramps
It can be tricky to review supplements. Do they make you feel better, fitter, stronger? In my case, I'm a club swimmer that can suffer from cramps at the end of a hard session, and I've tried all sorts to get over the problem. An article in Runners World put me onto Magnesium found in kale as a solution to cramps, so thought I'd try it. Suffice to say the results weren't great, so the next step was to try a supplement. Being a naturally sceptical person, i don't take the full recommended dosage, but I now take a tablet a day, three days before a swim, and on a test lasting 3x week, I can testify that it's removed the cramping. So for me, this is a supplement that's here to stay.

Lovely
Boxed Off's branding is super! It's all kraft, and eco, and pastel colours... just lovely. These magnesium tablets are fab, too. I used to get terrible, terrible migraines, and my solution was magnesium.Magnesium is also good for nerves, bones, concentration, sleep... and a myriad other things. It's just a marvellous, marvellous thing, and these specific tablets are great. You get 30 in the pouch (one a day), and each is 300mg, which is a very good dose. At the time of writing, the pouch is £16.00 which is expensive - or, at least, more so than some other brands - but I love that this company is British, and they're manufactured in Britain. The company itself is a very good one, and I'll look for more of their supplements from now on.

Vegan
I really like that this product is so clearly marked as being vegan. It comes in tablet form and it is easy to swallow. You are getting 300 mg of magnesium for each tablet which seems to be about right. You’re getting 30 tablets in this resealable pouch and if you stick to the recommended daily dosage of one daily then that should last you around about a month. At £16 it does seem a little bit expensive but I appreciate the fact that this company clearly mark their products as being vegan and the quality of ingredients is high. This could be a price worth paying especially if you are vegan and care about the ingredients. The expiry date and this is almost 3 years from the time of ordering so plenty of time to use.

Dissatisfied
I have a few other boxed off products, and I have to say that even though I appreciate the paper packaging, as it is a nice eco friendly version, the plastic closing strip is truly a nightmare - it is almost impossible to open it, and after you almost break your finger to manage it, closing it is like mission impossible. I have to say it is such an off-putting thing for me that made me stop using it, as I really could not be bothered with the struggle, and leaving it open would mean the tablets would get damp and stale. Not mentioning the price of £16 for just 30 tablets, and even though they are vegan, I simply don’t think they are worth the price - I am sorry.

Nice minimal packaging, I find them easy to swallow
The item arrived in minimal packaging and was in perfect condition.I ordered the magnesium and received 30 days supply. Mine had a best before end date of March 2024.Nutritional information and ingredients are clearly printed on the back. There is a seal to close the pack and I find that I really have to make sure that it is closed, or it will pop open.I find the tablets easy to swallow with a glass of water and I cannot really taste anything.I love that they are made in the UK and are vegan too.I do think that the current price is more than I would expect to pay, especially as I only received 30 days supply.
