In 2017 I decided to take a break from the chemicals I’d been putting on my head every few weeks for 20+ years. Scary but freeing! Though I didn’t hate my silver I was longing for some color again. I tried traditional henna in the 90s and liked the results but didn’t love the process, still I thought I’d be willing to try it again to avoid chemicals. Then I found this. So easy! Washed my hair with a clarifying shampoo, applied the cream to damp hair, covered, rinsed an hour later and freaked out a little at how well my hair, gray and all, soaked up the color. Originally I planned to choose a lighter shade but thought my hair might not take the color. It turned out just as the color chart suggested. While darker than I anticipated, it’s a beautiful color and my hair feels amazing. Before and after pictures, as well as appearance in different lighting for reference

I love this hair dye. It has no smell whatsoever and I don’t feel like a chemical factory when I’m using it. It’s much easier than regular hair dyes. It takes about an hour to sit on my type hair to cover the grays, and it does a fairly good job at covering them. (I’d say it covers about 90-95% of my grays.) My grays turn blonde, and my brown hair stays brown. I also do touch ups in between full colorings and it’s really easy to do. I have a few small problem areas and sometimes all it takes is a dab of color applied and combed in, and then wipe it off with a cloth or paper towel until I have a chance to wash my hair later. It’s cheating, I know, but we all need any extra help we can get when it comes to covering those grays!

In fact? The product treats the hair. I use it for a long time. The problem you have to repeat the process every 3/4 weeks… anyway, it’s easy and works!
