Unless you have a head the size of a grapefruit, there is no way the ear cups will fit "over" your ear. These are ON EAR headphones. That being said, they do a reasonable job of muffling external noise even without any music or media playing. The sound is a bit thin and tinny. The volume control is a bit finicky, but works well enough, and the cable is thin, flat rubber, and is not detachable. The ear cups are surprisingly, extremely comfortable and don't "squeeze" your ear like a lot of these cheap on ear headphones.The folding action feels reasonably smooth, and doesn't make that cheap "crack" noise many other extremely budget folding headphones are prone to making, but they are all plastic. Again, for under $15, don't expect amazing quality. They'll get the job done at a 3rd world price range, which is precisely what I wanted.I needed a pair of cheap, throwaway headphones I could literally toss in my handbag and not worry about if they got damaged, or lost.

I purchased a pair of these to go with an iPod Shuffle given as a Christmas gift because the recipient preferred an over-the-ear design to the earbud phones that were included with the iPod. They worked perfectly with the iPod (as an added bonus the pure white color is a great match in styling) and he loved the gift. I tried them for myself and was so amazed by the comfort and sound quality at this price point that I ordered two more, one for myself and another as a gift for another person. The advertised "noise cancellation" feature is really more of a "noise reduction" feature and is achieved passively, through a good over-the-ear design, rather than through switch-activated circuitry that requires additional power through a battery, as many other of today's "noise cancelling headphones" are designed. For me this is actually preferable, one less battery to have to replace every so often!

Update: We threw these away after about 8 months of use. First the ear cushions fell off then the sound adjustment fell apart. The last straw was when the entire cord snapped in two. Out of patience to fix them any more.These were purchased for my third grader to in class. They seem to work fine but one of the ear cushions fell off within a month. We carefully put it back on by stretching the outside of the cushion back into the grooves. They aren't held on by much so I fear these aren't going to last long. So far we have had them a total of 3 months with only one repair.

Daughter loves theses, fit perfect and great sound. Came packaged wonderfully!

I hope the seller contacts me - I am very disappointed in how long these held up. Bought for my kids for school. Didn't even start using until October. The top band is two separate plastic straps. One side broke sometime in October, but my son didn't show me before the return date had passed. Then a week later, the other side broke, so now they are useless.

This is a really good headset for the price. I use them for walking on the treadmill at the gym and they drown out the sound of dropping weights and gym music completely. They fold up for easy storage in the glove compartment too. Really good value. Light weight and a snug fit on my head.

I haven't had these for long, so I'm not sure about the durability. I was worried that since they were so cheap that they would sound bad, but I'm very satisfied with how they sound. This is my first pair of over-the-ear headphones and compared to earbuds the sound quality is amazing and the bass is so much clearer. They also work to cancel outside noise as well.
