OISH 18mm Wide Angle Cellphone Camera Lens for iPhone and Samsung Android Phones

Camera's on smartphones nowadays are really stepping their game up. Honestly, getting a nice cam phone lens is a pretty inexpensive way to get some nice shots without purchasing a point-and-shoot camera. Of course, it won't be the same, but it's still a cool alternative.I used this lens with my outdated iPhone 5s. The first time I put the lens on I was actually disappointed as I saw the black edges. Fortunately it was a simple fix. Make sure you reallllly tighten up the lens to the attachment! Tightening up just a little more got rid of the edges and I was able to shoot just fine.I found that shooting in landscape mode on phones versus portrait seemed to work out a little better. I think the biggest plus to having these wide angle lens is that videos turn out real nice. It looks like vids were definitely shot on a full-size cam rather than a phone.I received this product at a discount in exchange for an honest review. If the product's functionality deteriorates in any way I'll come back to update this post. So far everything works well. I don't really use the string that they provide for the lens case, but the lens case itself is protective. Overall a good investment in my opinion.

Used on iPhone 7 PLUS: Good results if you follow the instructions: You must tweek the position of the clip-on lens while viewing the phone screen until all blurriness/fogginess/distortion/vignetting is gone. Try rotating as well.BUT HERE'S THE THING. Here I am in the passenger seat of the car trying to get this thing adjusted while the car is moving and bouncing around, while looking at an iPhone screen which is not very bright in daylight, trying to see on the screen if there is any vignetting or blurring. NOT SO EASY. And all of that, after getting the lens out and screwed into this huge clip which have to be stored separately from each other.The lanyard is nice--for the lens--but what of the clip? I guess the clip goes in your pocket while the lens hangs around your neck? Eh. LOL

Il is OK. it not covering all lens of the phone . when I take a picture, there are some black spot on it. whatever, it make a great difference in the view of the picture.

Love it! It really improves the camera on my android phone. Better quality, focus, wider lens. Very cool.

great product for the price

First off, great packaging. Feels like a premium product. I like that there is a nice case/cover for the lens when not in use. The lanyard is a bonus, however I'm not sure if I will use that as much.I used this on my Samsung Galaxy S7. Clipping on was easy. It took a bit of adjustment to find the perfect center which you can find when looking at the preview image on your phone. When it is off center the image will be out of focus and "streaked" in the direction that the lens is off center.Phones put their camera lens in different locations. On the S7, it is centered in the back and down about an inch from the top. Because of this, the clip will cover part of your screen and on the default galaxy camera the settings icons will get covered. So adjust those before putting on the lens. I also found that clipping the lens from the side (not from the top like shown in the iphone picture) is better and doesn't cover as many icons.As for picture results, the wide 18mm gives you a much bigger field of view. This will be great for capturing landscapes or when I'm in tighter spaces like museums, homes but want to get more of the room into the picture. The sharpness of the picture will depend on how good you are at centering the lens. Will it replace your DSLR? No, but it does give you more options when you are in a pinch.I tried it on the front facing camera for selfies and it doesn't work. Due to the wide angle nature of that lens built into the phone, it actually can see the complete outside of the OISH lens. I don't know if it is the same on the iPhone. So for Galaxy phones, this is a rear facing camera lens only, unless you want a trippy vignette.In short, top quality lens, clip and storage. Results are great for a clip on lens. This OISH 18 mm Wide angle lens works fairly well. First i should mention that the design and build quality if the lens seems to be superior to other lenses I've tried. It even comes with a lens cap/cover to protect the lens when not in use. This lens provides super clear and crisp images and is ideal for traveling and capturing wide panoramic scenes. I'm not sure if the design was originally specified for the iPhone but my one minor criticism is that that finding the sweet spot on my Galaxy S7 Edge was a bit difficult. if the lens was not exactly entered, there appears to be a little bit of vignetting...which counters the point of the wide angle lens. Despite this minor inconvenience, i would recommend this lens to someone looking for a mobile phone lens or as a gift.It should also be noted that I received the lens at a discount in exchange for an honest review.
