This is a really nice little rice cooker. I live in a van and use it every day. It works very well. But it has one serious problem which is that there is no on/off button. You have to remove the plug, which is very tight. The plug being tight would usually be a good thing, but in this case it makes it difficult to remove, especially when the pot is hot and full of hot food or liquid. Also there is no way to securely grasp the pot when it is hot except by putting the lid on and securing it. It seems like adding an on/off switch would be simple and not very ex

I honestly loved this rice cooker for my camper van and that’s also why I’m so annoyed about it breaking after just 2 months of use. I did use it almost everyday but one day to the next it just fully stopped working!! Durability is definitely not a strong side but I’m tempted to get a replacement one…

I’ve tried a few 12v appliances before and wasn’t expecting much, but this little bugger cooks rice faster than my 110 ac rice cookers.

Third times the charm - the first two had scored off coating under the "steaming basket" into the anti-stick coating. The second also had a two inch scratch inside the lower part of the anti-stick coating. The third model received after the two returns had minimal scoring under the "steaming basket" and no scratches inside. I'm concerned that the Radio Shack 12V Power Supply had feedback from the unit that caused no power delivery. A different power supply (Progressive Dynamics Converter) had no issues. Rice took the exprected time and came out fresh tasting and fluffy.
