We use this tool for all of our wire stripping needs. We purchased this exact same tool well over 10 years ago and it finally wore out. We were so pleased with it for all these years that we purchased the same tool again.

One of those tools that I had felt was a bit over the top, a bit of a novelty and excessive.However after trying a colleagues, I was surprised how quick, efficient and easy they are to use.So I bit the bullet and bought these. Have to say when you are doing a lot of second fixing of sockets, lights and other sundries. They are a hand saver, due to less repetitive strain. They are easy to adjust, they strip the cable to expose the same length of conductor and also cleanly. The wire cutter is handy.They are a good quality addition to the tool box.

Maybe it works better when you buy it first, when it's sharp, but I think it's not as good an invention as I had originally thought. It's too aggressive when it comes to stripping the wire. So it's kind of hit and miss when trying to fine tune the setting. After two years of owning this, and after using it not too many times, I'm going to try to look elsewhere for a wire stripping tool. There are many brands that make this kind of design, but I feel it is the design of the invention itself which is flawed. I might try the "WEICON No. 7 Magic-Automatic Wire Stripper". It's meant to be very good. It is also very expensive, though, so it better be good or I'm sending it back lol. There's also the "WEICON No. 5", which is a less versatile and cheaper version for £20. I shall see.

I have a pair of STANLEY FATMAX Automatic Wire Stripper witch are fare better than ck cutters.The ck handles are smooth and hard to grip. when cutting they are hard to squeeze with a resistance when stripping. the adjusting screw another thing you have to do when stripping. yes they strip but it will not be the first tool I pick up to strip. pay extra and get the STANLEY FATMAX Automatic Wire Stripper strips all cables without the adjusting screw.

These are an excellent buy, I got them to make life a little easier at work but they've proven useful beyond my expectations.Cutting half the work out of plug and other mains wiring makes them a good buy as well but finding that they're versatile enough to remove the outer sheath from cat 5e cables, even the ones with that rubbishy flex casing and on fine electronics cables they're a god send since you don't get driven mad trying to carefully strip easily damaged wires while you're trying to work quickly.Even if it's not daily use I'd say these will pay for themselves, just by eliminating looking for the right cutters, fiddling with stripping the wires correctly etc. Also they'll do the job for crimping lugs on to wires, which is handy.

Instructions not very good but very useful product. Seems unable to take off insulation if close to end of wire or cable but overall very pleased with ease of use. Has made fitting recessed ceiling lights a lot easier than using my previous wire stripper.
