Perspicax et Fascinans
The book "2019: How Modi Won India" is a riveting account of the political landscape of India from 2014 to 2019. This highly informative and insightful book provides a detailed chronicle of the key events that led to the victory of the incumbent Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the 2019 General Elections. The author, Rajdeep Sardesai, is a highly respected journalist with a wealth of experience in covering Indian politics. His expertise and deep understanding of the Indian political scenario shine through in this book, making it a must-read for anyone interested in Indian politics. As I perused the pages of this book, I found myself thoroughly engrossed in the narrative, and it was refreshing to revisit the events of the past with the benefit of hindsight. The author has done an excellent job of capturing all the key events, providing valuable insights into the political strategies and machinations that ultimately led to Modi's victory. However, I must admit that at certain points in the book, I did sense a tone of bias. As the author himself acknowledges, every individual voter has their own set of political preferences, and when a journalist becomes an author, their views and biases inevitably seep into their writing. Nevertheless, I found myself willing to overlook this minor flaw, as the book's overall value far outweighs any perceived bias.Overall, I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in Indian politics, or anyone who wants to gain a deeper understanding of how political campaigns are waged and won. With the experience and expertise of Rajdeep Sardesai, I am eagerly anticipating his next book, which promises to be an equally informative and insightful account of the 2024 elections.

Debacle for the bhatk media
The content in the book is well researched with facts and authenticity. It shows the reader how dangerous Modi-Shah is tot the country.Ranging from the elections they've fought together, whether it may be in 1987 or post 2002.The writer all brightens light on the facts how a C.M candidate is chosen post election, with all the headline management keeping in fray. For ex:When yogi Adityanath was chosen as C.M candidate, BJP and the media made a very huge headline management and Modi ji with his skills in steering and scavenging his performed instincts in capturing all the nation's narrative whether who is gonna be the C.M candidate for up.It was all pre decided, just they back of to get some time to make it as a prime time event. And the best chal I like very much in this book is the Rahul Gandhi's chapter.Where the facts are will elucidated and a divine of dynasty he is blessed with.I recommend this book only for those who is anti-BJP,and want to understand what theirs agenda is all about.Too my bhakts, please don't start trolling my friend Rajdeep Sardesai, for writing this candid and benevolent piece

Unbalanced picture
Rajdeep does cover variety of issues but mostly gossips and innuendos. Sources, aides, watcher, rival hearsay based stories to present picture in a dodgy way.Analysis on Shah is very bitter, erratic and based on grapevines. In enigmatic Rahul's analysis author does not even mention about him being out-on-bail. Author's biasness is clearly visible.Facts & Figures not been put into perspective for e.g. counts/expenses of PM's foreign travel presented in absolute while a comparative analysis with MMS's travel would have been more pragmatic. Did Modi spent more or less than his predecessor is something the writer cleverly hides.Author tried to sensationalized even routine things for e.g. almost all prime ministers brought their own reliable bureaucrats in PMO including Devegawda. Routine follow ups have been branded as dictatorial. Some of the statements are factually incorrect for e.g. Jaitely was already a RS member and leader of opposition before he contested from Amritsar and not was sent after his defeat.

Breezy read
The book was a breezy and easy read. While the author has a reputation of being anti-Modi, the book is a very good effort to list and analyse all the factors that contributed to Modi- BJP victory in 2019. I would have given 5* except that the underlying bias creeps up at certain points . Else found it an enjoyable read

A truly Satisfying Read
The current dynamics of politics has changed and it isn't what it used to be a decade ago and this book pretty much sums up as to what has brought that change. The book is pretty comprehensive but incredibly interesting too which doesn't bore a reader even once. It's full of political insights which are always fascinating to read. A lot of people will read the book from their political standpoint but it's advisable to stay apolitical while going through it to better understand the landscape of Indian politics. It nicely characterizes numerous reasonings as to what generated the result of the 2019 election. A truly satisfying story.

Gives a true picture
Finally somebody has the courage to speak the truth. The book does not outright condemn Modi, but it does so using several examples of mismanagement and sheer cunningness shown by the person. The book also has a lot to say about Rahul Gandhi, and how his political naivity has benefited Modi even more.

Pretty good to understand how political party works from inside in 21th centuries. And you need new privacy law.
Yes, it is quite interesting looks. Little bit bias but we need to accept all side criticism. And this book gives all details of modern parties like bop and congress works in India. How they fight the election. And how they use technology. It shows darker side of individual privacy breached by all politicians in India. And need of new modern laws for Indian citizens.

An intersection read with many insider stories!
It’s a nice read if you enjoy reading about Indian politics. A lot of interesting insider stories to explain the rise of Modi. Even though I follow the author and the Indian politics closely, I found some new and interesting analysis in the book.

A pretty average book
Author has made a lot of assumptions, I was expecting more from this book. I think the 2014 book is more interesting.
